Randaberg is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Jæren, at the northern end of the Stavanger Peninsula. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Randaberg. Randaberg is located just north of the city of Stavanger. It is the northernmost conurbation of the Stavanger/Sandnes area, one of the largest urban areas in the country. The Byfjord Tunnel connects the island municipalities of Rennesøy and Finnøy to the mainland of Randaberg. Tungenes Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse located in the municipality of Randaberg in Rogaland county, Norway. The lighthouse is situated at the north end of the Tungenes headland on the tip of Stavanger Peninsula just to the north of the city of Stavanger. The lighthouse is no longer in use, but it is used as a fine arts center and lighthouse/maritime museum. There is also a cafe in one of the buildings. Historically, the lighthouse was the main light marking the entrance to the Byfjorden, the main fjord leading to the important city of Stavanger.

Svarthola or Vistehola is a cave and an archaeological site, located in Randaberg municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 9 m deep cavern is located on the Viste farm, about 10 km northwest of the city of Stavanger, situated near the shore of the Visteviga bay, at the mouth of the Hafrsfjorden. The site has yielded numerous Neolithic artifacts that have been excavated and discovered in and around the cave.

The municipality of Sokndal is in many respects a unique place worthy of a visit. Here you will find the little extras you are looking for whether you are on vacation, making a short stopover, attending meetings or live in our municipality. Our municipality is situated on the coast with hardly any protection from the North Sea. There is quite a short distance from the shore till you are out in open sea among bountiful fishing places. Maybe you would rather try your fishing luck with both feet firmly placed on land? Then you may choose between salmon fishing in our river Sokna or trout fishing in one of our many lakes. Or maybe you prefer diving along our coast?
Sokndal is the first member from Scandinavia in the international organization Cittaslow - good life in small towns. The main goal is to improve the quality of life and create a feeling of identity to the area.
