Salinas de Ibargoiti is a little village located in the province of Navarre, Spain. Salinas belongs to the Municipality of Ibargoiti. It is close to Pamplona, about 22 km from the center of the city. The Pyrenees' highway goes past the village. This highway is not finished, but when it is, it will be a very comfortable way to drive between Pamplona and Jaca. The Way of St. James goes through the village and lots of pilgrims visit it in summer.

    The Bardenas Reales is a semi-desert natural region, or badlands, of some 42,000 hectares in southeast Navarre . The soils are made up of clay, chalk and sandstone and have been eroded by water and wind creating surprising shapes, canyons, plateaus, tabular structures and isolated hills, called cabezos. Bardenas lacks urban areas, vegetation is scarce and the many streams that cross the territory have a markedly seasonal flow, staying dry most of the year.
