We LOVE learning about a country and it’s culture/history through it’s food, and this tour is one of the absolute best food tours we’ve ever done! We started out at the local market where we picked up cheese, olives, and bread, then had a massive Turkish feast for breakfast with tea and a few other traditional morning dishes. Next we had breakfast part 2 which was a hearty lamb stew. Other highlights include street mussels, “turkish tacos,” a trip to the sweets shop, RAW meatballs, and making our own Turkish pizza!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

The Turks in Europe (Turkish: Avrupa'da yaşayan Türkler or Avrupa Türkleri) refers to ethnic Turks living in Europe. Most Turks in Europe live in European Turkey, but there is also a sizeable Turkish diaspora in countries such as Germany. This diaspora includes two groups: guest workers who migrated to western Europe in recent decades, and historic Turkish minorities in southeastern Europe who trace their origin back to the Ottoman era.Turks have had a long history in Europe dating back to the Ottoman era when they began to conquer and migrate to Eastern Europe during the Ottoman conquests (see the Ottoman territories in Europe) which, other than Turkey, created significant Turkish communities in Bulgaria (Bulgarian Turks), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnian Turks), Cyprus (Turkish Cypriots), Georgia (Meskhetian Turks), Greece (Cretan Turks, Dodecanese Turks, and Western Thrace Turks), Kosovo[a] (Kosovan Turks), Serbia (Turks in Serbia), the Republic of Macedonia (Macedonian Turks), and Romania (Romanian Turks).
Modern immigration of Turks to Western Europe began with Turkish Cypriots migrating to the United Kingdom in the early 1920s when the British Empire annexed Cyprus in 1914 and the residents of Cyprus became subjects of the Crown. However, Turkish Cypriot migration increased significantly in the 1940s and 1950s due to the Cyprus conflict. Conversely, in 1944, Turks who were forcefully deported from Meskheti in Georgia during the Second World War, known as the Meskhetian Turks, settled in Eastern Europe (especially in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine). By the early 1960s, migration to Western and Northern Europe increased significantly from Turkey when Turkish guest workers arrived under a Labour Export Agreement with Germany in 1961, followed by a similar agreement with the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria in 1964; France in 1965; and Sweden in 1967. More recently, Bulgarian Turks, Romanian
Turks, and Western Thrace Turks have also migrated to Western Europe.
Ancient Roman Ruins in Turkey-Aspendos, Perge, Asklepion (with Narration, Facts/Figures)
The ancient Roman Empire was far reaching and it included Turkey. It was amazing to see 2,000 year-old Roman ruins in Aspendos (Roman theater and aqueduct), Perge (Roman city), and The Asklepion (ancient healing center and psychiatric hospital). I had to remind myself that I was in Turkey and not in Italy.
Vathi Beach, Crete | Life in POV
This time on Life in POV we are visiting Vathy. Located near Cape Lithino at the mouth of a small gorge, this is far from civilization! Enclosed by tall cliffs, it looks like a lagoon and is not affected by the strong local winds that blow.
Vathy is a beach with sand, rocks, clear water and a number of tamarisks all around. It lacks organization completely: all you will find there is a small café with but the basics. Enjoy!

Έκανα τεστ DNA και τρελάθηκα | My D.N.A. test, crazy results.
Τα test DNA σήμερα είναι τόσο διαδεδομένα και οικονομικά σε σχέση με το παρελθόν που μπορείς με ένα μικρό δείγμα σάλιου σε μερικές μέρες να μάθεις τα πάντα για το από που προέρχεσαι και να βρεις πιθανούς συγγενείς που δεν είχες ιδέα ότι υπάρχουν.
Έτσι και εγώ αποφάσισα να κάνω το DNA τεστ της MyHeritage που νομίζω είναι το καλύτερο και ποιο οικονομικό. Τα αποτελέσματα που βγήκαν όμως ήταν πολύ περίεργα και δεν τα περίμενα καθόλου. Δείτε πως έκανα το τεστ και τις αντιδράσεις μου όταν είδα τα αποτελέσματα !!!
