Bugibba Square is where we begin this walk around the streets of Malta, starting at the beach overlooking the sea before turning up into Bugibba Square and onto the streets of St Paul's Bay.
When visiting Malta on holiday you may find yourself faced with timeshare salespeople in Bugibba Square promising you free travel cards or other gifts if you head to a nearby Malta hotel for a meeting. This is simply timeshare holiday presentations so avoid.
Bugibba Square is quite expensive to eat and drink compared to the bars and restaurants around the nearby streets of St Paul's Bay so be wary.
As we head up from Bugibba Square into the streets of St Paul's Bay we pass the bars and restaurants of the area. It's worth reading the reviews on Tripadvisor before heading into them as they'll give the best advice on which bars and restaurants are the best and worth visiting.
Malta as a holiday destination is fantastic. It's warm, safe, and full of historic sites and amazing architecture, particularly in places like Valetta which is incredible and well worth a visit.
Around Bugibba and St Paul's Bay it's a little more quiet and serene and quite peaceful, and you can get trips from the beach and bay out to other Malta tourist destinations. Definitely worth looking at for your holiday trip.
I visited Bugibba in Malta in 2018 and spent a few days travelling around the island and taking in all the very best tourist and holiday spots there. I'm due to go again (and again) regularly as I loved it!
We end this Malta walk as we arrive at the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Bar on San Xmun, Bugibba, a popular bar in Malta for Sheffield Wednesday fans who visit to grab a beer, meet fellow Owls fans and watch the football matches on the TV's there.

Mellieha is located in the northwestern part of Malta and it is a large village set on top of a hill with beautiful landscapes and vistas. During the summer months, this destination becomes very popular and lively; that is why many people come here to spend their vacations. It is also well known for the beautiful villas in Santa Maria Estate which are perfect for those people who are looking for a peaceful and secluded location for their holidays. Visiting this village would surely be a breathtaking experience for tourists. The village is located on top of a serene hilltop from where you can enjoy great views of the azure Mediterranean Sea and the Ghadira sandy beach, the longest sandy beach in Malta. The village is surrounded by deep valleys which are very fertile.
Reaching Mellieha
Mellieha is located 13 miles away from the capital Valletta, a bus from Valletta takes around 45min. It takes more or less the same time to get from the airport to Mellieha.
Things to see in Mellieha
Mellieha the picturesque and quaint village welcomes all the tourists to enjoy a calm and mesmerizing vacation. Some things that you must see here are mentioned below.
The best feature of this village is the 18th century neo-Baroque church which also has a medieval shrine. The church was built on the edge of the cliff from where you can get exotic views of the whole village and of the Ghadira Bay.
Mellieha Bay (Ghadira) is one of the best beaches that is located in Malta. This sandy beach has shallow waters that are ideal for children. Here you can also enjoy scuba diving, swimming and all sorts of water sports.
The Ghardira Bird Sanctuary is located very near to the Mellieha Bay and you can visit this place with your family and friends.
If you want to spend your holiday visiting different beaches, then some other nearby beaches worth visiting are Ghajn Tuffieha Bay and the Golden Bay.
There are various shops and markets located in this soulful village from where you can purchase local goods and artifacts.
