Ukranian 2TE10s in the Carpathian Mountains

The Ukrainian Railways still relies heavily on Soviet Era 2TE10 diesels, known for their Fairbanks Morse inspired prime movers that produce incredible bass sounds and massive volumes of smoke. Currently the Ivano Frankivsk - Rahkiv line in far western Ukraine is one of the best places to see them in action with several heavy express trains on the weekends and steep grades that ensure the locos will be working flat out. We begin our trip in Lviv and after a journey to Yarameche we see several examples at work at scenic locations along the line.

Church of St. George in Drohobych

Church of St. George in Drohobych - a monument of wooden architecture Galician late XV - beginning of XVI century, one of the best preserved and is one of the best monuments of ancient Ukrainian sacred architecture. Проект Двоколісні хроніки починає другий етап навколосвітки. Ми підросли, трохи змінилися і тепер рушаємо через іншу половину світу. Перші десятки кілометрів по рідних українських дорогах виявилися непростими, але цікавими.
