Visiting Brazil soon? Check out my top 5 things to do for free in Rio de Janeiro!
I've had a love affair with Rio de Janeiro for as long as I can remember. Or as Brazilians would say 'desde que eu me entendo por gente' :P
Most Capeverdeans grow up watching Brazilian novelas where our fascination with the country and the marvelous city begins. I had high expectations of Rio de Janeiro but even then the city managed to blow me away and each time I visit I fall more in love. The friendly people, good climate, delicious food, many cool activities and the beautiful landscapes make this destination incredible and has something to offer to every traveller.
I haven't met anyone who travels to Rio and doesn't instantly fall in love. There's a magic about this place that needs to be experienced and once you get a taste of it you're hooked! Next time I go I would love to visit Salvador, Fernando Noronho, Floreonopolis, Alto Paraiso and the Amazon.
Brazil is a beautiful country and holds a magic that everybody feels when visiting. Can you tell how much I love this place?? :D

Tips for Seascape Photography in Ilha Grande, Brazil
To see the Tips for Seascape Photography on my blog head to
I love seascape photography. In fact, it might be my favourite sub-genre of landscape photography. There is a certain challenge to finding a great location, fighting the elements of the sea, and then building a scene that you like that's different to other forms of landscape photography. So, when I was out and about on Ilha Grande, Brazil, I decided it was a great time and place to give some Tips for Seascape Photography.
Of course, like any type of photography there are a number of things you can do, and a number of tricks to use. However, with Seascape photography there are some basic things you really should be trying to achieve, and those are the things that I include in this video.
In general, I had an absolute blast on Ilha Grande, and the truth is that I wish I had an entire month on the Brazilian island. It really was perfect paradise. I'm thinking that it might be a great destination as a part of a photography workshop in the future.
Anyways, I hope these tips for seascape photography have been helpful!

FLIGHTS. How to fly to Brazil, finding the best and cheap flights.
First off, I messed up in the last video. VISA processing time is completely dependent on which state you're in. In Texas for example, it was only 20 days. Also, with the application itself, you need to give them an econforimation and or an itinerary, aka proof of travel. Well, if you don't want to be locked into a flight, you can purchase the airfare, give it to them for the application process, and then refund the airfare through the airline within 24 hours. MAKE SURE IT'S WITHIN 24 HOURS OR YOU'RE STUCK WITH IT. By law you can get a refund through the airline, not necessarily through a third party booking site. Be sure to check the airlines rules, but it is a good way to not get locked into a flight if you want to change anything. One thing to keep in mind, the first arrival in Brazil must take place within 90 days from the date the visa was issued. This is a good way to make sure you have some wiggle room if you want to change your plans though.
Google flights is a great tool, remember to search 10-3 weeks before you want to travel, with 5-6 weeks out being the sweet spot, however I have seen last minute flights comparable to the sweet spot. Honestly, find airfare you're comfortable with, and purchase it then. Always book directly through the airline. Third party booking sites add too many problems if things change, on either end.
With ITA Matrix, you can search a calendar to find the cheapest flights. However, you cannot book through ITA Matrix like you can with google flights, so once you've found a flight you like, take the information and plug it into the airline. Pretty easy.
If you guys have any questions or concerns, please comment below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. THANKS!
Brasília - Principais Pontos Turísticos
Brasília - Principais Pontos Turísticos
Brasília é a capital federal do Brasil e a sede do governo do Distrito Federal. A capital brasileira é a maior cidade do mundo construída no século XX.
