Islamic Architecture Great Mosque of Xian China
Islamic Architecture Great Mosque of Xian China.
One hundred and twenty kilometers west of Mountain Huashan (among China's five famous mountains) the Great Mosque of Xian (pronounced Sian) is located in the Huajue Xiang district, inhabited mainly by the Muslim Hui minority.
The strong Muslim community that lives and works today in Xian traces its history to Arab & Persian merchants, who after traveling the Silk Road, became permanent residents of such cities as Guangzhou, Quanzhou, Hangzhou, Yangzhou, and Chang'an (Today's Xian - was the imperial capital of China for 11 dynasties).
The name Hui is an abbreviation for Huihui, first appearing in the literature of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). Originally referring to the Huihe people (the Ouigurs) who lived in Anxi in the present-day Xinjiang and its vicinity since the Tang Dynasty (618-907). They were actually forerunners of the present-day Uygurs, who are different from today's Huis or Huihuis.
Then, as now, the Muslim community maintained their culture by operating mosques and schools and according to the historical records carved in the stone tablets which are still preserved in it, the Mosque was setup in 742 AD during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) in the 1st year in the reign of (Emperor Tian Bao) and was repaired in 1384 AD, the 17th year of the reign of emperor (Hong Wu in the Ming Dynasty). The Mosque was the religious center for Arab & Persian merchants operating in China. Today the Muslim community, which supports several mosques, runs its own primary school, foods shops and restaurants - for over 1250 years, they have been an integral part of Xian's vibrant daily life.
The Great Mosque of Xian occupies an area between 12,000 to 13,000 square meters and the buildings cover more than 6,000 square meters, the Great Mosque was built in the shape of a rectangle from the east to the west, and is subdivided into five courtyards and eight pavilions.
The remarkable detailed art and architectural work, characterize this Great Mosque, as one of the most unique Mosque-architecture in the world. In 1956, the Great Mosque was decreed to be an important historical and cultural site under the protection of the Shaanxi Provincial Government, in 1985 it was included in the UNESCO list of heritage sites, and in 1988 it was promoted to be one of the most important sites in China - Xian City is an Architectural treasure-house.

Have you ever seen panda stand and eat (Ya Xing 雅星)
Introduction of Dujianyan Panda Base in Sichuan:
The Dujiangyan Giant Panda base is located in Shiqiao (Stone Bridge) Village of Qingchengshan Town. It covers an area of about 51 Hectares (126 acres), and enjoys a favorable climate and natural environment with vast bamboo forest coverage and lovely scenic surroundings.
The Dujiangyan base includes a panda hospital, a medical lab, 10 sets of monitoring enclosures, 30 sets of enclosures, a panda kitchen, an educational center and staff housing.
The panda rescue and quarantine focuses on pandas rescued from the wild who are sick or injured so they can receive medical care and rehabilitation. The Dujiangyan panda base also places a major focus on senior and disabled pandas. Essentially, it serves as a panda “nursing home” where they are able to receive special care. Pandas leaving or returning to China are placed in the quarantine area for observation.
The panda disease control, prevention and research area focuses on diseases that affect the giant pandas and how they can be prevented. The Dujiangyan base has a large state of the art laboratory for research where Chinese scientists work side by side with researchers and scientists from the U.S. and other countries. They work together to study panda behaviors and health, sharing information and research.

Giant Pandas in Ueno Zoo, Tokyo, Japan, Asia - Ri Ri and Shin Shin - Panda Gigante
Hi all!
This video was taken in Ueno Zoological Gardens, Tokyo, Japan, Asia. This video shows two big pandas, Ri Ri and Shin Shin. Ri Ri is a male giant panda & Shin Shin Is a female giant panda. You will see both pandas eating bamboo sticks & also walking around their surroundings. I also have footage of them sleeping but I didn’t include! Not very interesting, watching sleeping animals! Haha! The video was taken November 2015, recent Japan footage of the lovable panda bears. Kids will love spending time at Ueno zoo & park. A great family tourist attraction, everyone loves to see these adorable black & white animals.
We visited the famous Ueno park zoo during Japan’s autumn season which is evident, with lots of fallen leaves on the ground. Leaves fall from the trees to the ground during the footage. Giant pandas Ri Ri and Shin Shin were separated the day we visited. The video shows their spacious surroundings. These are giant panda bears & they are very calm. Pandas eat bamboos a lot so if they are awake when you visit the zoo it is likely that you will see them happily grazing too while sitting relaxing. The pandas are so friendly. Children will love seeing the cheerful animals. Ueno Zoological Park is the oldest Japanese zoo.
Ueno Zoo visit is highly recommended if you travel to Japan, Asia. It is a huge zoo with hundreds of animals, some are:
• Panda bears
• Zebras
• Stork
• Kangaroos
• Elephants
• Hippopotamus
• Monkey
• Tortoise
• Polar Bears
• Lions
• Tigers
• Toucans
• Penguins
• Giraffes
• Crocodiles
• Turtles
• Deer
• Japanese Birds
• Sea Lions
• Frogs
• Turtles
With over 400 different types of species, Zoo Ueno is animal planet Japan!
As well as big pandas, I also particularly enjoyed seeing kangaroos and stork. I had never been near these animals before. The gorillas & polar bears are also good craic as well. See the animals when they are being feed, they are more interactive. We seen the polar bears when they were being feed. They were catching fish with their mouths & diving in and out of the water. Let me know if you wish to see gorillas and polar bears footage at the large Ueno Zoological Gardens, Tokyo, Asia.
Ri Ri & Shin Shin pandas are a very popular amongst the animals. They are located near the zoo entrance which was a great start to the visit. They were sleeping when we saw them first. After admiring them for a while, we seen the rest of the animal park. As the pandas were also located near zoo exit, we seen the famous giant Asian pandas again. During the second visit both Japanese pandas were awake. It is useful to know that if any animals are asleep during the visit that there is plenty to see elsewhere & that they are likely to be awake once if you are near their location again. Watch the giant pandas Ri Ri & Shin Shin chewing bamboo shoots close up. Shin Shin the panda is now in Tokyo from China.
The trip to Japanese Ueno zoological gardens was a lovely way to spend a day in Tokyo city. Ueno Park and Zoo Are easily accessible, close to Ueno underground tube station; a quiet area of the city. It is nice to go here after a few busy days in densely populated, congested areas of Tokyo city. The Japanese Zoo entrance fee is reasonable. Children will love this tourism destination!
We saw this tourist attraction before heading to Tokyo Skytree, which is one stop away on the underground subway. It was great to do so much sightseeing in one day.
There will be many tourists around Ueno Zoo, located within Ueno Park; another place to relax and sightsee. Everyone enjoys seeing hundreds of animals. There will be many people taking photos and videos. There will be many great photography opportunities for you at this tourist destination. It was very popular with local residents and school trips.
Definitely visit if you are in Tokyo, Japan, Asia. It was great fun & I wish I could go back. We really had a fantastic time in Japan. The friendly people made it such a memorable trip. Add this tourist attraction to your Japanese Sightseeing Itinerary.
Leave a comment if you wish for more information, if you plan to visit Ueno Zoo or Ueno Park, Tokyo, Japan.
