May 5 : Boneyard Red : Newport Beach Brewing CO with special guest Taphunter
This week we're back in Newport, at the Newport Beach Brewing Company, to hang out with Mel & Flash Gordon, the founders of TapHunter, a really cool application that allows you to find out what's on tap at you're local bar, providing the most up to date information as possible.
We drink Boneyard Red, a Double Dry Hopped Red Ale, with over a pound of East Kent Goldings in each keg with a nice caramel maltiness balance.
TapHunter is launching into the Orange County area, and are currently support 8 major areas in the United States.
Mel & Flash are strong supporters of the Craft Beer revolution in the San Diego area, and are overall just awesome people, so check out the app, and always know what's on tap!

All Comers Meet, Why Pass Oregon 2017
Another great ride at Why Pass with all my friends from the DOD. The weather was cold about 25 degrees. The ground was dry and frozen solid, perfect for riding fast. All the tree limbs had been cut out after the recent ice storm. Free food, beer and a hot fire after riding some of the best built trails made everyone happy.

Fresh hops at Central Oregon breweries
As summer winds down in Central Oregon, beer consumers begin to turn away from the crisp, refreshing lagers and ales that are so welcome on hot, dry days and look toward full-flavored and full-bodied darker beers. See story at

Bend Oregon
In this episode of Cheap Family Travel ( Nick, Regan, Maggie and Kate visited Bend, Oregon. Bend is known as the Gateway to the Great Outdoors of Oregon, and it was easy to see why. There's loads of things to do in Bend. We took a leisurely float down the Deschutes River in our inner tubes. We went on a short hike to see the beautiful Tumalo Falls. We loved the Paulina Plunge where we hiked, biked and rode the rock water slides. In downtown Bend, we hit the weekly farmers market. We joined the $2 tour of Goody's Chocolate Factory and had tons of delicious samples. The whole family went on a free tour of the Deschutes Brewery, and Mom and Dad hit several of the brew pubs that Bend is famous for. A drive along the beautiful Cascade Lakes Highway took us past Mount Bachelor and several gorgeous lakes. We stopped at Elk Lake for a swim and a picnic. Bend is a wonderful place for a family vacation with lots of great activities for a cheap family!
