We took the kiddos to play at the awesome nature preserve, and decided to hike out to what was marked CAVE on the map. Kinda small entry way, but it was a cave.

NATURE TRAIL HIKE | HUNTSVILLE AL | S1E6
✅SEASON 1 EPISODE 6:
Our #Journey takes us to Madison County Nature Trail in Huntsville, AL. We've been here for two months and haven't explored too much so we went on a nature trail hike! Despite Huntsville being urban, right outside is the Old Town District and just south of that is Green Mountain. Sitting atop of that is the Madison County Nature Trail, or to the locals, Green Mountain Nature Trail.
It's a cost-free 1.5 mile trail that should be taken at a leisurely pace(we did ours in about 3 hours.) There's so much to take in in such a small area. The wildlife is very present compared to the few other places we hiked. We ran across snakes, ticks, butterflies, turtles and heard people saw deer that day. Fun fact: this is the only Braille trail in all of Alabama!
????We quit our jobs so we could experience the world more and #LIVETRAVELHAPPY.

Hiking McKay Hollow Trail, Monte Sano State Park, Alabama
The McKay Hollow Trail is a 4 mile out and back trail located in Monte Sano State Park, near Huntsville, Alabama (we combined McKay Hollow with the South Plateau Loop Trail on this day to make a 4 mile loop hike instead).
We had a beautiful day with the temperatures not too hot for summer in Alabama and the humidity relatively low for this time of year. This trail features a small waterfall (only a trickle on this day due to dry weather) and a steep descent into a deep and refreshingly cool valley; or hollow as they say around here. During the summer season, the views are few and filtered, but the forest is beautiful and green. There is no reliable water along this trail, so make sure to bring plenty along.

How Dollar Stores Really Make Their Money
Every year, dollar stores see higher and higher earnings, but how can a store that seems like it's giving things away turn itself into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise? The answer is simple: that dollar isn't always the great deal it appears to be. Here are their secrets.
Whether times are good or bad, you can still count on people to flock to dollar stores because they have the one thing everyone loves: convenience. Sales for Dollar General are always on the upswing, with the chain seeing an increase of 3.7 percent between 2017 and 2018, regardless of the state of the economy. Take it from Dollar General CEO Todd Vasos, who had this to say about their regular customers:
We have seen no sign of trade out or trade up from our core customers. Even in a good economy, [they are] still looking for value and convenience.
So, basically, no matter how much money people have, they still want something that bigger grocery stores can't give them. Dollar stores are not just convenient because their items are cheaper, but also because there seems to be one on every corner — and that makes them perfect for a quick fill-in trip between your weekly grocery runs. These stores are also typically smaller than the ones in a big chain like Walmart, which means that you can usually get in and out with your emergency bag of dog food, a handful of snacks, or supplies for your kid's art project in just a couple of minutes. The fact that most people are on to this, means dollar stores are always making money — even if customers buy just a few things.

I HATE TO LEAVE THIS RIVER! Alabama Bass fishing in July with spro frogs
Dont forget to Comment, rate, and Subscribe!!
Lake Chickamauga was ranked the #2 Bass lake in the United States. That's what drove me to move from Auburn, Alabama to Tennessee to explore this beautiful bass fishing lake. Follow along my journey as I attempt to catch trophy bass, hone my craft, entertain, and share my learning experiences.
My favorite baits right now are Chatterbait, Alabama rig (A-Rig), Crankbait, Jerkbait, Shaky Head, Frogs. These will probably change as we start to approach Prespawn and Spawn.
Favorite Equipment: Shimano Curado, Duckett rods, Nitro Boats, Mercury Motors, Toyota Trucks, Go pro.

Trailhead signs link downtown hikers, bikers walkers and joggers to Land Trust
October 14, 2014
(Huntsville, AL) - New residents and visitors are pleasantly surprised to see Huntsville's lush green mountains, streams and hiking trails located within minutes of the City's urban center. To help guide people to these amenities, the City of Huntsville is installing about one dozen trailhead signs from the Von Braun Center to the entrance of the Monte Sano trailhead at Three Caves. From there, users can enjoy more than 30 miles of trails throughout the Land Trust, Monte Sano State Park and the Burritt Museum.
Chad Emerson with Downtown Huntsville Inc., came to us with this idea after hearing from the hoteliers that guests were interested in accessing our trail system, said Mayor Tommy Battle. We thought it was a good idea, and it fit within our Healthy Huntsville goals to get people outdoors and moving around.
The City's Planning Department and Traffic Engineering Department worked with DHI to create about one dozen signs and mark a route beginning at the corner of Williams and Monroe and ending at the Three Caves trailhead.
We are excited about this project, said Emerson. The decorative signage connects guests living, working, staying, and playing in Downtown Huntsville and Big Spring Park to the many miles of hiking and biking trails just minutes from the city center.
