Mavic 4K #11 Hawaii: Richardson Beach Park @ Hilo
This is the first beach park I visited when I came to Hawaii in the very beginning back to 2002. You may found sea turtles around the coast if you got lucky to stop by there about sunset.

Richardson Ocean Park - Hilo, Hawaii
Richardson's is a popular snorkeling spot in Hilo, Hawaii. Located mere minutes from the Lilikoi Home, this beach is a great place to see coral, tropical fish, and sea turtles.
BLACK Sand beach, & Sea TURTLE -Richardson Beach, Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii
Richardson's Beach is also unique, when you look at the beach it looks dark because the sand is made out of black/green lava. Once you get in there, the water is clear and warm. The farther you go, the clearer it gets, and lot of fish to see. Also, the beach is rocky made out of lava rocks. The Turtles are friendly and they liked to hangout in shallow water.

A Dangerous Jump @ Richardson Beach Park, Big Island Hawaii
In this video, I see the crack that the children fall into, and jump a tiny chasm, gettin' all over-dramatic, as per usual. But seriously — Richardson Beach is fascinating and gorgeous.

The 27-Tongued Nightmare Sea Creature @ Richardson Beach Park, Big Island Hawaii
We discover a freakish spindly creature with dozens of arms under a rock at Richardson Beach. Sadly however, she wouldn't touch it to confirm if it was venomous.

Hilo (/ˈhiːloʊ/) is the largest settlement and census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, which encompasses the Island of Hawaiʻi. The population was 40,759 at the 2000 census. The population increased by 6.1% to 43,263 at the 2010 census.[1]

Hilo, Hawaii - Richardsons Beach
Carlsmith Beach Park, Big Island of Hawaii
Carlsmith is a beautiful park in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. Amazing snorkeling. Depths from just a couple feet to 10+ feet. There are giant green sea turtles to swim with almost every day. The water is a little chilly because of the fresh water spring that runs into it. 90 minutes from the house.
Ziplining Papaikou Hilo, Hawaii filmed by Josh's GoPro
We saved and paid for our vacation before it began. The plan was to fly straight from Atlanta to Hawaii, spend the night, then get on a cruise ship for 7 days to see 4 of the islands. Deloris planned excursions at every stop including rainforest hikes with waterfall swimming, zip lining, watching a sunrise from atop a 10,000 foot crater and biking down it, a luau, surfing lessons, and a helicopter tour of one of the islands. Epic doesn't describe it all. What a great way for us to celebrate 10 years of marriage. Awesome!
