Greenville Country Club - Wilmington, DE
Greenville Country Club is located in the rolling hills of Northern Delaware. Previously it was the estate of Eugene du Pont Jr. and known as Owl's Nest - the Tudor Revival style home built in 1917 on one of the highest points in Delaware is now the The Clubhouse building. Landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman designed the garden and tea house in 1928. Owl's Nest became one of the most famous houses in America in 1937 when on June 30th of that year, debutante Ethel du Pont married Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr., the president's son, and the reception for 1,300 guests was held at the bride's childhood home. With its remarkable beauty, the Greenville Country Club is a popular location for weddings and events.
