7. Wind CirclesDevils Tower Wind is the flow of gases on a large scale. On the surface of the Earth, wind consists of the bulk movement of air. In outer space, solar wind is the movement of gases or charged particles from the Sun through space, while planetary wind is the outgassing of light chemical elements from a planet's atmosphere into space. Winds are commonly classified by their spatial scale, their speed, the types of forces that cause them, the regions in which they occur, and their effect. The strongest observed winds on a planet in the Solar System occur on Neptune and Saturn. In Belle Fourche it is time to leave the Interstate 85 South and enter the Interstate 212 West. This road takes me to the state Montana me; by far the most beautiful state of America. Also here, it seems time stood still. The 212 West is mainly used by lorry drivers; and that always good for little Paulie. A couple kilometres before the village of Broadus I stop to film this. After that, I leave the state Montana, following the Wyoming 59 towards Biddle (4 houses and a petrol station). At the end of 59 I continue on the Interstate 14 West to Sheridan. In Spotted House it is time to refuel and time to sweep the bodies of the grasshoppers of my car. Only one has survived the ride of Belle Fourche to Spotted House (178 miles).
Though the Interstate 90 West, I go up 14 West, which leads me straight through a solid mass mountains. Please note: You must take the alternative 14 West, because the `normal' 14 West is not more than a motorway and you see nothing of the landscape. The Alternative 14 West gives breathtaking views of the Big Horn Mountains. After this stop it goes down the mountain, with fall percentages of sometimes 10%. To give you an idea; I put the car in `neutral' and with the brake I am steering the car. When the breakes start to smell (overheated brake disks), I just put the car along the roadside to let the brakes cool down. But all this is it worth; the view is formidable. I astonish myself slightly concerning the packed up megacampers, which are larger than an average Dutch town bus, to which a private car has been attached. And those have been packed also more than full. I cross villages as Lovell and Powell and bowl eventually in Cody, where the Yellowstone Park starts unofficially. Officially you must drive another 14 miles (21 kilometres) frome here.
