Baranów Sandomierski, Poland, by motorhome
Baranów Sandomierski has recently spent around EUR1.5m doing up the centre of the village to make it 'a tourist destination; and as you can see in the video an excellent job has been done. There is also a place to park one's motorhome - maybe that was not part of the plan but as you can see there is plenty of space for them and it is right next to the square as well.
The town has today around 1,500 inhabitants and is located a couple of kilometres away from the Vistula river and its founding may have had something to do with the possibility of fording the wide river. The settlement of Baranów was first mentioned in 1135. In 1354 it was granted a town charter by King Casimir III the Great.
It is best known for its palace, built in 1591–1606, probably by the Italian architect, Santi Gucci. It was a family residence until 1939. During the communist period it was controlled by the sulphur mining concern Siarkopol before becoming a museum and hotel after the fall of the Soviet bloc.
One can go to the river and cross by ferry - which will take a van. For those less adventurous there is a road bridge around 8km from Baranów. This is the point where the Red Army first crossed the Vistula river on 30 July 1944 - although of course there was no bridge there then.

Later we explore the Old Town and Market Square and have lunch at Vinyl Cafe. We later have beers at Kontynuacja, and lastly have dinner at our hotel, The Art Hotel restaurant.

The University of Wrocław is a public research university located in Wrocław, Poland. The University of Wrocław was founded in 1945, replacing the previous German University of Breslau.
The Maths Tower
The Maths Tower is located in the main building of the University of Wrocław. Its rooms currently serve as exposition halls of the Museum of the University of Wrocław, and the terrace may be used to admire the beautiful city panorama. The relatively low level of the terrace (ca. 42 m) allows for an easy identification of all visible objects, which include church towers and contemporary skyscrapers. The entrance tickets are sold until 30 minutes before the closure of the terrace.
Old Town Wroclaw:
Wroclaw's Old Town is not only its historical centre but also today's social and cultural centre. Here you will find, not only the city's most splendid architecture but also its best shops, restaurants, bars, galleries and museums.
The very epicentre and life hub of the Old Town is of course the Main Market Square, or 'Rynek'. This amazing space was painstakingly reconstructed after WW2 to recall the Baroque splendour of its heyday. Here the good citizens of Wroclaw gather to eat, shop, drink, dance and generally mill about. More than one tourist has never make it past this pleasure spot, such is its allure

The Market Square, Wrocław is a medieval market square in Wrocław, now the heart of a pedestrian zone. The square is rectangular with the dimensions 213 by 178 metres.
Vinyl Cafe, Wroclaw:
This groovy little cafe is an obvious labour of love, and old school audiophiles will literally feel right at home with the living room arrangement around the hi-fi record player. Full of cosy armchairs, crates of vinyl LPs and shelves of books, come in, pick out a 45, curl up with a coffee or beer and a book and you've got yourself the perfect afternoon.

A LOVELY DAY IN TARNOW, POLAND
Tarnow might be the one of the smallest cities we’ve been to in Poland but it was a pleasant surprise. The fun starts at a nostalgic tram cafe before we practice our Polish at the local ‘Burek’ market. We had lunch at a milk bar, toured some more sights in the old town and end our day in Tarnow with some local liquor called tarninowka. Next up in our Poland travel series is….Katowice!

The National park of Ojcow is worth visiting, especially for those spend at least two weeks in can Kraków. The park is only twenty kilometers from the city, were castles, caves, and river valleys framed by hills and forest are waiting to be discovered. Ojcow is the favorite weekend excursion place of the residence of Kraków, so tourists make a better choice if they visit here during the week.
The grill bars and snack bars along the road, which provide the atmosphere of a picnic, are all open it this time also. The twenty one square kilometer national park is easily accessible by bus. Since Poland is traditionally religious catholic country, we can also find places of worship at parks too. This however is not a stone church, but a nicely carve little wooden chapel, opposite the car park. This is the starting point of hikes. From here motor vehicle traffic is not allowed but we can use an environmentally friendly Horse cart. The Horse taxi takes us along a whole row of weekend houses to the ruins of the castle of Ojcow from the fourteenth century.
Many Kraków residences have weekend houses or lots here, where many grow vegetables and fruit as a hobby. They making of Sauerkraut have a long tradition. The cabbage grown in the garden is pickled in barrels or nowadays in clay pots, and use to the making of bigos. The Polish national food inspired the following lines by in this exhibits in the pandowdies. Bigos was on the boil, hard to express in words the wondrous taste, the hue, and gusty of the hunt man stew. Words are clanging symbols rhymes but seared sounds, there substance. The town's man belly will never plum.

The local history museum exhibits the regional history, ethnography and traditions but the national park exhibits its rich flora and fauna. In the park or very close to it, we can find four caves to which tourist pass lead. Down there all your round refrigerators like temperature dominate, which means five to seven degrees Celsius. It's worth preparing for this with coats and sweaters.
If we've had to leave our cars anyway, we cannot only go with a good walking tour but we can take the opportunity for a bicycle tour, even with the rented mountain bike. The scenic valley of the Prudnik is winding along the oldest ranges of the era of Krakow. The river valley narrowing to canyons of some places is framed with limestone rocks of various shapes. The valley widens at some places, here it's surrounded by green fields.
While in the white rocks the mouths of caves are various sizes are open. The famous rock formation standing at the east area is called the Krakow gate. The log shaped rock rising behind is called Hercules club. In the last third of the ten kilometer long valley, the view of the romantic castles standing on the steep hill opens up. The Piascoes Kaskala was built on the fourteen century to be a royal watch post, and then it became the possession of a Polish Aristocratic family.

We’ve been before and we’ll go again because there’s just something about Krakow. Yes it’s popular and crowded but the old town gets us every time. We had a fun day trying out some different things to do in Krakow and are excited to visit a new city next :)

Warsaw, Poland - Wilanow Palace
When visiting the Palace you must check all cameras at the entrance. No photos or video allowed. Built in the baroque style in the last quarter of the 17th century for the Polish king John III Sobieski. It remained in private hands until 1944 and thankfully survived the war. It is full of furnishings, art objects and famous paintings. The palace is one of Warsaw's popular tourist attractions.
The gardens are being renovated but were beautiful when we were there.Buses run from the old city to the gates of the palace.
