With the lift pass “Großglockner” you will find 55 kilometres of snow-sure and very empty pistes, as well as 12 lift systems available, located between 1,300 and 2,900 metres altitude. The area is situated on the Sothern side of the Alpine crest, right in the national park “Hohe Tauern”. From the North you can easily access the area via the train connection in Bad Gastein or via the Tauern-tunnel.
Here, at the foot of Austria’s highest mountain, with its impressive backdrop, various pistes of intermediate difficulty entice skier and boarders alike.
The wide pistes on the slopes of the Sonnenalm and Fleissalm are ideal for practicing the first swings in the snow. The steepest piste from the Schareck peak to Fallbichl, and also the ski route from Schareck to Fleissalm, are a challenge even for the more experienced. Most of the runs are located above the tree line and this enables off-piste fans to enjoy freeriding on fresh powder snow, alongside the regular pistes.
A really unique experience is a ride with the tunnel train from the Roßbach middle station to the Fleissalm. The train passes by a former water canal system which is worth seeing.
Cosy huts in the ski area invite you to try typically local specialities which you can enjoy in front of a magnificent mountain panorama. Families with children and tranquillity seekers are absolutely in the right place here.
