Velden am Wörthersee is one of the most famous and popular tourist resorts of Carinthia.
The place became well-known by the television series Ein Schloss am Wörthersee with Roy Black. The setting for the Austrian-German TV production, the Schloss Velden had lost its purpose after the opening of new casinos in 1989. In the nineties, Gunter Sachs bought the Schloss Velden and started to renovate, then he sold again; Today it is the center of an exclusive Capella Hotel.
The annual sports car festival matches the cliche of the place. The central meeting point is the casino.
In the summer months the light and water show, the so-called cloud of sound takes place 3 times a week on the lakeshore of Velden.

Bekannt wurde Velden durch die Fernsehserie „Ein Schloss am Wörthersee mit Roy Black. Der Drehort, das Schlosshotel, hatte seine Bestimmung nach der Eröffnung des neuen Casinos 1989 verloren. Klagenfurt è la capitale dello Stato federale della Carinzia in Austria. Ha una popolazione di oltre 90.000 persone, il che la rende la sesta più grande città del paese.

Si tratta invece di Velden am Wörthersee, cittadina austriaca nel distretto di Villach-Land, in Carinzia, Austria, affacciata sul lembo occidentale del lago Wörthersee.
Il paesaggio che l'abbraccia è senza dubbio tra i più suggestivi dell'Austria, un palcoscenico color smeraldo intriso d'aria pura e argentina, dove le bellezze architettoniche di Velden si inseriscono con garbo, senza spezzare l'incanto di un mondo ideale. Le casette, timide e ridenti in contrasto con il fascino drammatico delle montagne, sono quelle tipiche degli ambienti alpini: colori pastello o tinte vivaci, grappoli di fiori ai balconi e tendine allegre appese alle finestre.
Nella natura lussureggiante, tra hotel accoglienti e impianti turistici d'avanguardia, trovano spazio la cultura e la storia. Fu il principe Khevenhuller, nel corso del Seicento, a volere la costruzione dell'omonimo castello (Velden schloss), inizialmente sua dimora privata, poi divenuto simbolo indiscusso del luogo. Dipinto di un giallo caldo e solare, è impossibile non notare il castello di Velden e restarne ammaliati: situato proprio nel cuore del borgo, dopo qualche secolo dalla sua realizzazione venne adibito a hotel di lusso, ed è tuttora una delle strutture ricettive più esclusive e imponenti d'Europa.

Pyramidenkogel is an 851-metre (2,792 ft) high mountain in Carinthia, Austria. It is located to the south of the Wörthersee and near the town of Maria Wörth, in an area that is a boundary between speakers of German and Slovenian. In nearby Slovenia the mountain is known as Jedvovca. The mountain has been a tourist attraction since at least the late 19th century. The view from its top is mentioned in Karl Baedeker's 1879 The Eastern Alps.
The new tower is built of wood and steel, and at a height of 100 metres it is the tallest wooden observation tower in the world. Architects Markus Klaura and Dietmar Kaden of Klagenfurt and structural engineer Markus Lackner of Villach have designed a structure which features a visitors platform at 83 metre, a cafe at 70 metre, and a 66-metre long slide (the longest slide in Europe). The tower is PEFC-certified.
