A visit to the Beach - South of France - Cavalaire & La Croix Valmer beaches
We visited a beach in the Var department of France, in the southern part that is overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
The video was shot on a sunny April day, temperatures in this time of year are not warm enough for a nice swim but a walk along the beach and getting your toes wet is very possible - even fun.

Travel France - Exploring the Mediterranean Village of Gassin
Take a tour of French Village of Gassin in Gassin, France -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Not far from the shore of the Mediterranean Sea is the beautiful French village of Gassin.
This small town was built high on a hill, originally as a defense against enemy onslaughts. Now, Gassin's position is mostly advantageous in providing superlative views of the expansive countryside.
The village is fairly old and has many narrow cobblestone lanes and side streets.
The town church dates to the sixteenth century and features a prominent bell tower.
The town's Mediterranean climate creates a year round affable atmosphere.
Places to see in ( Cavalaire Sur Mer - France )
Places to see in ( Cavalaire Sur Mer - France )
Cavalaire-sur-Mer is the most southerly coastal resort of the Var department in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Located behind a magnificent beach which boasts 3 kilometres of fine white sand and azure blue waters, it enjoys an exceptional climate with 300 days of sunshine per year and is a popular family destination. Framed by Cap Cavalaire to the west and Cap Lardier to the east with the green Pradels Mountains in the distance, this is one of the most picturesque towns on the Riviera coast. There are approximately 6,500 residents in this charming old fishing town famous for its Provençal traditions and busy marina.
Cavalaire-sur-Mer is an attractive coastal resort, developed around a three kilometre long sandy beach on the Cote d’Azur south-east of Saint-Tropez and in the Var department of Provence. A family-focussed resort, Cavalaire is officially listed as a 'Famille Plus' destination, awarded to resorts with a focus on providing appropriate activities, enhanced safety, reduced admission prices for children etc.
Above all it is the lively and friendly atmosphere that attracts visitors to Cavalaire, and that ensures the ongoing popularity of the resort. The long sandy beach is of course the main attraction in Cavalaire-sur-Mer, and there are also smaller beaches and coves on the coast just outside the main resort such as Le Dattier a little way to the south-west. There is also a free shuttle bus that follows behind the beach so you can quickly reach less crowded areas of the beach.
If you have the energy to explore a little there is a very picturesque beach to the south-west of the town centre called the Plage de Bonporteau that involves some effort to reach but as a result is quieter than the main beaches. The challenge in parking and the steep walk to the beach are compensated by views across to the Iles-Hyeres!
Particularly renowned for its water-sports, the resort of Cavalaire-sur-Mer is a favourite Jet Ski training venue and host to the 'Jet Game' competition in September every year. Sailing, catamaran, windsurfing and motor boats are also very well catered for, while the sea-bed is also particularly interesting here making it an excellent spot for scuba diving.
You wil also enjoy visiting the port: the port in Cavalaire is one of the most-sheltered and best-equipped of the Cote d’Azur and attracts a good number of visitors. There is a wide range of restaurants around the port, and you can also see some traditional fishing boats in the port - these colourful boats are known as 'pointus'. Market day in Cavalaire-sur-Mer is every Wednesday morning on the Place Jean Moulin.
Cavalaire-sur-Mer is probably an ancient Phoenician colony of the name of Heracles Caccabaria. There are also remains of a Gallo-Roman occupation in Pardigon. The town was detached from Gassin in 1929. The village is located on the route of the old railway Saint Raphael–Toulon (sometimes called Train Pignes), now defunct. However, the location of the old railway line can be noted and its path followed (and in much of the coast from Le Lavandou to St. Raphael, Cavalaire is even a Road Train Pignes).

This is a very quit and calm place where you don't get the feeling that there is much tourism and you can quietly enjoy your holiday with a great sea view. Les Floralies is situated in a small place called st clair and has great sea view, infinity pool and spacious apartments. Le Lavandou is nice and quit and gives you the holiday that you deserve. In the area there are plenty of nice places to visit like bormes les mimosas. The cote d'azur is the bomb:)

German Countryside - Hallo Deutschland #2
(Yes I know there's a glitch in the video.)
What happens when you pull a student from Dublin city and place her in the middle of the German countryside? I'm a German and Geography student working on Ferienhof Feinen for the summer. Watch as I say Hallo to Deutschland and have a few mishaps along the way (let's be real, it'll probably be a lot more than a few!).
