The State's top tourist attractions include Yale University, which maintains numerous world-class museums, Mystic Seaport, the restaurant and nightlife scene in downtown New Haven, The Maritime Aquarium, and two major Native American casinos.
Regions
Fairfield County
Southwest Connecticut, near New York City. This area has many beaches and lighthouses, and many of the state's biggest cities, such as Bridgeport, Stamford, and Norwalk.

Greater New Haven
South central Connecticut. Home to Yale University, and numerous museums and theaters. It includes cities such as New Haven and Milford.

Other destinations
Connecticut is rich with history, nature, art and beauty. Truly something for everyone. While many people are drawn each year to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, there is much more in this state. There are a number of beaches at the shore, state parks and forests throughout the state, and many smaller parks as well. Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam is an excellent family destination. So is the Essex Steam Train and River Boat Ride in Essex.

American Prairie TV - Sneak Peek Season 1
Originally made as a 20-minute presentation of our Season 1 PBS Episodes for the Central Illinois Film Commission in May 2018 at the Springfield Hilton in Springfield IL, producers and directors of Hollywood films and TV network shows gave us a standing ovation. KETC and PBS Network whom we were working with at the time highly recommended we attend and do this presentation considering it was our first time in television broadcasting and we'd learn what these veterans of motion-picture and television would think of our new PBS series. We were told to expect lots of criticisms but always remember what KETC and PBS Network wanted. We didn't quite know what to expect but we certainly didn't expect their standing ovation. And when we had Q&A afterwards, there were no criticisms, just compliments. We hope you like this presentation too!
This video was a sneak peek of our Season 1 lineup highlighted 3 episodes of Route 66 in Illinois. The Season 1 series was later canceled due to lack of funding and therefore never was broadcast. Stay tuned to this YouTube channel American Prairie TV for more of our Route 66 series. If you like this video, click the LIKE button. Topsmead State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located in the town of Litchfield. It was formally the summer residence of Edith Morton Chase, daughter of Henry Sabin Chase, first president of the Chase Brass and Copper Company. She left the house and its grounds to the state of Connecticut on her death in 1972. The estate house, built in 1929 to a design by RIchard Henry Dana, is a fine example of a Tudor Revival country estate house, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Topsmead State Forest consists of more than 600 acres (240 ha) of land in eastern Litchfield. It is bounded on the east by Buell Road, the west by [[Connecticut Route 254, and is crossed in its northern sections by East Litchfield Road and Connecticut Route 118. Most of the forest area consists of a hill rising to an elevation of 1,230 feet (370 m). The main park entrance is on Chase Road, off Buell Road. From the parking area on Chase Road, trails branch out through the forest holdings, a combination of open and wooded areas.
Near the center of the forest, and near the top of the hill, stands the former estate house of Edith Morton Chase. It is a large two story structure, with stucco half-timbered walls in the Tudor Revival style. A central section is flanked by cross-gabled wings, with large westward projection that houses a great living room with a tall ceiling. The interior is decorated in 1920s style, and retains original fixtures and finishes. The area around the house is informally landscaped, continued the practice of Edith Morton Chase, for whom it was built.
