Chicago, Illinois Travel Guide - Must-See Attractions
Chicago is a city in the U.S. state of Illinois, and is the third most populous city in the United States, and the most populous city in the American Midwest. Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837, near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed.
The most important places to visit in Chicago are: Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower, this iconic symbol of Chicago was the world's tallest building when it was built), Millennium Park (a great urban park, among the most famous landmarks of Chicago and a site for many major city events), Shedd Aquarium (one of the world's largest aquariums. It displays an impressive array of animals), Grant Park (called the front lawn of Chicago, the park is wonderfully landscaped and offers many sites for an urban escape), Navy Pier (situated right on Lake Michigan, the Pier has a festive atmosphere with entertainment, shops and restaurants) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Chicago travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Inside Sugar Factory — The Most Instagrammed Restaurant In America
Lots of restaurants these days have unique items that have customers whipping out their phones to take a pic and share it with their friends. But Sugar Factory takes the cake when it comes to Instagrammable food and drinks, with a broad range of colorful, and visually stunning items to choose from on its menu. We spoke with Sugar Factory partner Tom Recine about some of their most popular items, what exactly makes them Instagrammable, and how Instagram has affected their business. Following is a transcript of the video.
Customers: Sugar!
Tom Recine: Pretty much every single table will have their camera out because they see something they think is fantastic.
Sugar Factory is a restaurant, bar, retail, and many, many other things actually that's rolled into one.
In 2016, this was the number one Instagrammed restaurant in the country, if not the world.
It's a fantastic tool for us. I think it has definitely grown our business. When we create something, it's to create a wow. And that turns into an Instagram moment. I think it's definitely the best marketing tool there is on the planet. There's no question about that.
We stay very, very relevant in everything that we do.
We have something that's called a Couture Pop. It's a blinged stem with a screw-on lollipop top. That is backed by stars like Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian and many, many others. That's one thing that helped brand Sugar Factory.
Many, many celebrities come in on their own. Some celebrities their licensee tie-ins. We do a really good job of taking care of them, making them feel comfortable here. They respond with a lot of Instagram and Tweets on their own.
One thing is it can't be kitschy or hokey. It has to be relevant. I think people obviously, they eat with her eyes first. It's appealing to the eyes. It's something that everybody associates with. And it's something that everyone just has to have.
We sell a lot of drinks. We sell a lot of goblets. The Drake goblet is a new item on our menu that has just exploded. People are loving that. We have something called a Lollipop Passion. I think the Lollipop Passion is the number one most Instagrammed food or beverage item.
We also have an insane milkshake. The Sugar Daddy. And we have rainbow sliders with colored buns. Our King Kong Sundae is probably the number one dessert. It's a sundae that has 28 scoops of ice cream. And it's garnished with all kinds of candies and Unicorn Pops. And then two sparklers go in it. And the team celebrates a guest's birthday in a way that no other restaurant does.
Sometimes it's taking something that's tried and true, something that people really understand, and taking it to 2 or 3 levels higher. When that happens, you have a winner.

Landing - O'Hare International Airport (ORD) - Chicago Illinois USA
Landing at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) from Greenville Spartanburg International Airport on United Express flight 3257. Location:
Chicago O'Hare International Airport (IATA: ORD, ICAO: KORD, FAA LID: ORD), also known as O'Hare Airport, O'Hare Field, Chicago International Airport, or simply O'Hare, is an international airport located on the Far Northwest Side of Chicago, Illinois, 17 miles (27 km) northwest of the Loop. It is the primary airport serving the Chicago area, with Midway Airport, about 10 miles (16 km) closer to the Loop, serving as a secondary airport.
O'Hare is the busiest airport in the world by number of takeoffs and landings—a title it reclaimed in 2014, beating out Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (which had the title from 2005-2013). Until 1998, O'Hare was also the busiest airport in the world in number of passengers. It was surpassed mainly due to limits imposed on the airport by the federal government to reduce flight delays.[7] As of 2014, O'Hare is the third busiest airport in the United States and sixth busiest in the world by passenger traffic.
O'Hare is currently a major hub for American Airlines and United Airlines, as well as a hub for regional carrier Air Choice One and a focus city for Frontier Airlines[1] and Spirit Airlines.[2] It is the second largest passenger carrying hub for United after Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport carrying 15.3 million passengers annually, and largest by number of daily flights, operating a total of 585 flights daily.[8] O'Hare is American's second largest hub, behind Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and third largest by number of daily flights, operating a total of 201 mainline flights daily.[9]
As of September 2014, O'Hare has direct service to a total of 210 destinations, including 153 domestic destinations in the United States and 57 international destinations in South America, Asia and Europe. With 200+ destinations, O'Hare is among a select group of airports worldwide with that distinction, including Frankfurt Airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Charles de Gaulle Airport, Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Munich Airport, and Dubai International Airport.
O'Hare has been voted the Best Airport in North America for 10 years by two separate sources: Readers of the U.S. Edition of Business Traveler Magazine (1998–2003) and Global Traveler Magazine (2004–2007).[10] Travel and Leisure magazine's 2009 America's Favorite Cities ranked Chicago's Airport System (O'Hare and Midway) the second-worst for delays, New York City's airport system (JFK, Newark Liberty, and LaGuardia) being the first.[11] O'Hare currently accounts for over a sixth of the nation's total flight cancellations.[12]
It is operated by the City of Chicago Department of Aviation. Most of O'Hare Airport is in Cook County, but a section of the southwest part of the airport is in DuPage County. The Cook County portion is located within a section of the City of Chicago contiguously connected to the rest of the city via a narrow strip of land about 200 ft (61 m) wide, running along Foster Avenue, from the Des Plaines River to the airport.[13][14] This land was annexed into the city limits in the 1950s to assure the massive tax revenues associated with the airport would go to the city. The strip is bounded on the north by Rosemont and the south by Schiller Park.[15]

Places to see in ( Chicago - USA ) Water Tower Place
Water Tower Place is a large urban, mixed-use development comprising a 758,000 sq ft shopping mall and 74 story skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The mall is located at 835 North Michigan Avenue, along the Magnificent Mile. It is named after the nearby Chicago Water Tower, and is owned by General Growth Properties.
Originally planned in the late 1960s by the Mafco Company (the former shopping center development division of Marshall Field & Co.), the skyscraper was eventually built in 1975 by Urban Retail Properties, a company led by Philip Morris Klutznick and his son Thomas J. Klutznick. The project received a J.C. Nichols Prize from the Urban Land Institute in 1986. Modernist architect Edward D. Dart, of Loebl Schlossman Bennett and Dart, was the chief architect.
The tower section is a 78-story, 859-foot (262 m) reinforced concrete slab, faced with gray marble, and is the eighth tallest building in Chicago and the twenty-sixth tallest in the United States. When built, it was the tallest reinforced concrete building in the world. It contains an award-winning Ritz-Carlton hotel, luxury condominiums and office space, and sits atop a block-long base containing an atrium-style retail mall that fronts on the Magnificent Mile.
Water Tower Place's opening changed the economic dynamics of the Magnificent Mile by bringing middle-class shops to what had been a street dominated by luxury retailers, tony hotels, and expensive apartments. It shifted downtown Chicago's retail center of gravity north from State Street to North Michigan Avenue. Decades after its construction, its residences and hotel remain sought after addresses, and the mall is typically fully leased, drawing large enough crowds that some retailers operate outlets both inside the mall and outside it along Michigan Avenue.
The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago is a 435-room AAA Five Diamond, Mobil Five Star hotel, located on floors 15 to 30 in Water Tower Place.
The builders of Water Tower Place acquired the rights to use the Ritz-Carlton name and logo when they opened a hotel in the tower in 1975. This was before the modern Ritz-Carlton chain was established in the mid-1980s, using the same name and logo, which have been around since the early 20th Century, in use at various hotels. Also under terms of the agreement, no other hotel was permitted to use the Ritz-Carlton name in the Chicago area while the agreement was still in effect, meaning that the modern Ritz-Carlton chain was never able to operate a hotel in Chicago, only a nearby condominium, which they built in 2012.
Water Tower Place continues to be a shopping destination due to its size and its wide variety of shops, despite only having one anchor. The stores include three of Abercrombie & Fitch's stores (Hollister Co., abercrombie Kids, and Abercrombie & Fitch). American Eagle Outfitters opened in fall 2007. Chocolatier Godiva has a location in the mall. Other retailers include Lego, Banana Republic, Lacoste, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, CUSP, Chico's, Ann Taylor, White House Black Market, J. Jill, Oakley, Finish Line, Inc., LIDS, Aldo, Coach, Forever 21 and the official Chicago Cubs Clubhouse Shop.
