Join us as we visit Kotor, Montenegro in this travel guide covering the top things to do in Kotor in terms of attractions, food and experiences. Having arrived from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina the pattern of heavy rains in the late fall continued and kept us a bit grounded for the first couple of days. After the weather improved we jumped at the chance to wander the Old Town and Gates while hiking up to the Fortresses. For meals we ate a lot of seafood and other forms of local Montenegrin cuisine.

10 Things to do in Kotor, Montenegro Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Котор)
Good morning friends. We have made it to Montenegro. We're in Kotor (Котор) right by the water we're staying in the Old Town. We've been here a few days and it has been raining non-stop just like it was in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Like the first half of the week it just poured but now it is nice. We can't wait to explore this city so join us as we make a little travel guide.
If there’s one thing that had caught our attention upon arriving in Kotor (Cattaro), it was the fortifications that not only encircle the old town but also run all the way up into the mountain, so a hike up to Kotor Fortress was the first stop on our itinerary.
As a tip, we would say the best time to hike up to Kotor Fortress is in the morning because the path is shaded. This isn’t a huge consideration if you’re visiting in winter like we did, but definitely something to keep in mind if you visit in the summer.
The Cathedral of St Tryphon was built in honor of the patron saint and protector of the city, on the very same spot where an older church had already stood long ago. We paid our admission and went in to visit the cathedral’s very own museum.
After walking along part of the city walls, we stopped by the Sea Gate, which is the third entrance into the Old Town. As soon as you walk through here you’re met with a clock tower and a big square that’s encircled by restaurants and lots of little lanes that break away - basically it’s a great place to wander.
And now we want to show you one more restaurant that we enjoyed in Kotor (Cattaro). This one was called Cesarica and they specialized in seafood.
Lastly, if you want to enjoy a little evening stroll, the Port of Kotor is a beautiful place. Not only can you enjoy the city all lit up at night, but if you happen to be there on a day when the cruise ship pulls into town, it’s worth sticking around to watch it manoeuvre its way.

I spent 5 days back home in Veneto and Milan..met my Parents and Friends... had a really good time before going back to Singapore.
Basically my entire trip was about eating the good food I have missed so much and driving around to meet people.
I am really happy that I had the chance to come back even if it was only for a short period, I am not the type of person getting homesick but I think that once in a while it is important to see the people you grew up with.
Till the next time I can just say bye Italy and I will miss you.

Emilia-Romagna Travel Guide for Food Lovers (Bologna, Forlimpopoli, Faenza, Modena, Parma) in Italy Travel Food Video Transcript:
So good morning from Italia!
We are back in Italy. This time we're exploring the region of Emilia-Romagna and we're going to be spending three days here eating, drinking, exploring. Yeah. So exciting. This is a food heavy tour and I can't wait to just like devour as much Italian food as possible and we're also going to be doing quite a bit of travel too. Yeah, so we're starting things off in Bologna and we're also going to be exploring a few destinations so tag along.
So this afternoon in Bologna we are climbing Torre Prendiparte. This tower was built in the late eleventh century, early twelfth and we're supposed to get some amazing views of the city from the top.
You can actually stay inside the tower and it has some pretty cool accommodations
So we made it to the top. We had to climb twelve stories on rickety wooden stairs to get here but the views are spectacular even in the rain.
So this morning we are going to be cooking. We're currently in Forlimpopoli. This is the hometown of Pellegrino Artusi and he basically created the first Italian cookbook in Italian. We're going to be preparing some of the recipes in that cookbook.
So we watched the demonstration. Now it is time to create our own pasta. It is one hundred grams of flower to one egg.
So I've got my pasta now it is time to I guess make it into different shapes.
So this is Mio Laboro. My hard work with pasta to feed an army.
Lunchtime. We get to eat the pasta we made.
So we just finished a wonderful lunch but the day is not over yet. Next up we're doing a vineyard and wine tour so we're just going to take a little look around and see what we can find. Yeah, so this place is called La Palazza to drink wine.
So last night we spent the night at an agriturismo and that is kind of like a home stay but in a rural farm setting in a vineyard.
So this morning we are visiting Acetaia di Giorgio and we're learning about the Balsamic Vinegar making tradition.
Alright, so Brendan and Audrey we are doing a taste test of Balsamic Vinegar.
So what did you think of that original traditional balsamic vinegar?
So for today's lunch we are getting a little bit fancy. We're currently at Antica Corte Pallavivina Relais. It is basically like this old fortress slash castle in Parma.
I'm walking through a tunnel of ham. You have prosciutto, salami and some different meats and cheeses.
So I'm trying Frizzante Rosso and it is a traditional type of wine and if you look down here you can see it is in a very traditional cup not a typical wine glass.
So this morning we're at a dairy farm learning all about the Parmigiano-Reggiano. It has been cool just seeing how like the production and how it is stored.

So we're vising the Enzo Ferrari Museum and in terms of all of the things we've done on this trip this is going to be one of my favorites I think. And if you look up here it the museum is actually shaped like the engine of a Ferrari so the design of the actual museum is really cool.
And because this is an Italian museum everyone is having coffee. I'm having gelato. This flavor is called paradiso. I think it is mango.
Well, our time in Italy has come to an end. We're currently at the airport in Bologna enjoying one final lunch eating pizza.

Oserai Ferro e Fuoco is located on Piazza Marzzini in the heart of Trani's old city. Recommended by our B&B, it is convenient, friendly and has excellent cuisine. All of our selections were wonderful but the roasted mussels were to die for. Yum, yum, yum...
Caffè e Locali storici a Trieste.
The first Coffee shops were opened in Trieste during the second half of the eighteenth century, probably following the example of many fashionable places in Venice, but they immediately took on an unmistakable Viennese connotation in their interior decorations and in the services they offered. In 1768 in contrada Bottari, now via San Nicolo', Benedetto Capano was granted the exclusive sale of hot and cold waters, tea, coffee, chocolate, lemonades, sherbets and syrup water. From then on the Coffee Shops multiplied in number in Trieste which had in the meantime become a Middle European emporium. As time went by, the cosmopolitan spirit of the city proposed very differing characteristics, with distinctly political cafe', cafe's for Austrian officers and top executives, the bourgeoisie cafe', the businessmen's cafe', and increasingly numerous were the literary cafe', where James Joyce, Italo Svevo, Umberto Saba used to go.
The Caffè degli Specchi, was opened in 1839, founded and managed by the Grecian Nicolo' Priovolo. The cafe' was first on the ground floor of Palazzo Stratti, in that same Piazza Grande (which became Piazza dell'Unita' d'Italia in 1918) that continues to represent the heart of the city. Thanks to this special position, the Caffe' degli Specchi immediately became a privileged place where to follow all the historical, political, economic and cultural happenings of the city of Trieste.
Located in what was once called Trieste's piazza dei Negozianti (the Shopkeepers' Square), the Caffè Tommaseo was founded in 1830 by Tommaso Marcato coming from Padua. The cafe' immediately became a privileged meeting place for artists, businessmen and politicians; in 1848 it was renamed in honor of the writer and patriot from Dalmatia, Tommaseo.
Famous for having introduced in Trieste at the beginning of the century, the novelty of ice-cream, the cafe' Tommaseo is a bright, sophisticated and elegant place: the mirrors, which were brought directly from Belgium about one hundred years ago, the chairs made in bent wood and the decorations, which are the work of the painter from Trieste Giuseppe Gatteri, all stand out distinctively.
Opened in 1914, the Caffè San Marco immediately became a meeting place for newspaper readers and a laboratory for the production of fake passports, which were allegedly needed by anti-Austrian patriots to flee from Italy.
It was completely destroyed by the Austrians during the war, but rebuilt to become, in the twenties, a meeting place for many intellectuals from Trieste, among whom Saba and Svevo. The interior proposes the typical atmosphere of the Viennese cafe': the engraved wooden counter, the nudes painted on the medallions on the walls, the obsessive repetition of coffee leaves on the decorations, the marble tables with their cast iron legs, the mirrors and the original frescoes.

Grazie a questa posizione speciale, il Caffe 'degli Specchi divenne subito un luogo privilegiato dove seguire tutte le vicende storiche,gli avvenimenti politici, economici e culturali della città di Trieste.

Travel Tips for First Time Travelers with Hey Nadine Video Transcript:
Welcome back to our channel. We have Nadine joining us from the channel Hey Nadine and if you've been watching travel content on YouTube you've probably seen her stuff because she has been making videos for a long time. She is our travel expert today. We've both been traveling for many years and that means we've made several mistakes along the way some of them sillier than others. So today we thought we would share 10 common mistakes that first time travelers make and how you can avoid them.
So first tip before you head out is to contact your bank and let them know your bank and your credit card because it could get blocked otherwise. Another mistake I would say is booking parts of your trip in the wrong order. Packing proper footwear and packing for multiple seasons and seasonally.
I've made this mistake several times & I don't seem to learn. But often times I forget to look up how to get from the airport to my hotel.
Tipping. I another big rookie mistake when I'm in a country and I'm sitting down at a restaurants I didn't look up the tipping etiquette of that country because it varies widely per country.
Another tip for me would be to always grab your hotels business card before you walk out of the door because if you're a little distracted like I am you may start wandering around and not know how to get back.
Unrealistic expectations of your physical fitness.I think another mistake a lot of first time travelers make is underestimating distances between two places.
Small change. Small change especially in like a cash based place is always so important to have on you and the problem is that most ATMs give you the biggest bills.
Okay I think another common mistake is only doing what your guidebook says. Buying souvenirs on day 1 and carrying them around with you.
I think another very common travel mistake is planning an itinerary that is just way too busy.
Laundry. So if you're going for a trip longer than a week chances are you're going to be doing laundry.
And last but not least I feel like we should mention travel insurance because if you can afford to book a trip you can afford travel insurance.

Hvar ferry to Split, Croatia + bus ride to Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina Travel Food Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. It is another very early start to the day today. We are leaving Hvar Island and traveling all the way to Mostar. Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
So our ferry is here and it is massive. It is a behemoth in comparison to the one that we took coming to the island. This one is called Lastovo. Lastovo. I mean it is by Jadrolinija the same company. So yeah, yeah. How many stories is that? I don't know. It looks like a cruise ship almost. It is huge I'm glad they brought the big ship yes for the storm we're going to need it. The waves are fierce this morning.
Okie dokie. We are here. We are back in Split. That was a really bumpy ferry ride. Oh yeah. I was feeling nauseous. A kid puked. Haha. Twice. Right in front of you. Right in front of me. Kind of gross but anyways we have to go catch our bus now. Tickets in hand. We're going to Mostar. We sure are. Let's go find our bus and the terminal.
We've got pizza slices and cheese burek and you've got one over here. Yummy? We're lucky we had a little bit of change left. I didn't know if we could actually get we spent the last of our Kuna here. We literally like spent it all just now. So we get two pizza slices and a burek. Also our bus door is open so maybe we can go get on.
Actually yeah the weather the weather is awful. Oh my gosh. We are soaking wet. It has been pouring like it is coming down like a curtain like a sheet of water. How would you describe it? Yeah. It is just like raining sideways basically. It is. It is just yeah nice to get on the bus. It is toasty in here. It is dry the heat is on. So we're planning to sleep for a few hours and before we know it we'll be in Mostar.
Alright alright. We have arrived at our airbnb yes. Oh my gosh guys we owe you the biggest update. So yeah, the bus trip went really well. Um, the weather improved. It started off awful as you remember. Yes. And then the rain started to slow down a bit. It is not like it became like really nice outside but it just kind of got a little bit better.
And yeah, we were going down the coast for a long while and then we kind of veered off into the left and then the landscape completely changed. It was more like lakes, rivers, mountains. And yeah, the border crossing was an absolute cinch. Super quick. Everything has been super easy. I was all border crossing were like the Balkans. Yeah. So far we handed over our passports to the bus driver uh he went and got them stamped. Brought them back on and that was it. The only other event that was noteworthy was that we had to change buses right at the last minute. Yeah. And that was right near the end of the journey. Yeah, the last leg to Mostar was on a different bus.
We are back from dinner. We're back at our airbnb and we're tired so yeah it has been a long day of travels so we're just going to relax and then go to bed. See you in the next video where we'll actually show you around Mostar and maybe try some of the food. Exactly. Bye.
