This beach is very chill, never too many people out this way. It's located near an old military base [Lucky place to have been stationed] You see surfers on a regular, it has some great hike trails, and the sand is mixed with rocks but still very comfortable. I've been a numerous of times, be ready for some windy days but the look and feel is worth it. Also you'll know if you're going the right direction there is a cool one way tunnel to get there.

Secret Bunker at the Marin Headlands
This is one of several abandoned bunker's constructed during World War II based on the belief that an impending Japanese attack on San Francisco was inevitable. In the end, the attack never came and after the war the fortifications were left to decay and be overcome by nature.
This particular bunker is unique because one will not find it any modern maps of the Marin Headlands. The location is completely off the beaten path, hidden at the bottom of the cliff with no real trailhead. The vantage point is surreal. Above at the top of the cliff lies Battery Rathbone.
San Francisco Bay - Hawk Hill Bunker
This Bunker is located at the top of Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands which overlooks the San Francisco Bay area. This bunker was part of the Harbor Defenses during World War II at Fort Barry. Many visitors come here to enjoy the hiking, bicycling and incredible views of the surrounding Bay Area with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Hawk Hill lookout point is the largest know flight of the diurnal raptors in the Pacific States which is a big attraction to this area. Unfortunately due to the recent storms I did not take many pictures of the back of the bunker inside as it was flooded.
Exploring Military Bunkers Northwest of Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California
The whole shore had multiple layers of protection by the military to prevent access to anywhere in the bay by foreign invader ships. So, enemy ships would have had to deal with a massive bombardment by the anti-ship guns that covered each other with extensive redundancy. Then, even if an enemy ship managed to pierce the defense and enter the Bay, there were American gun shelters facing into the bay to further damage any rogue, get-away, ships.
The San Francisco Bay area probably had one of the most extensive military coastal defenses around. It was set up to deter all kinds of foreign ships from landing. But that all changed when planes started loading up bombs.

Breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, Fort Cronkhite, Rodeo Beach and Pacific Ocean from along the southern shore of the Marin Headlands and down the Point Bonita Peninsula.

Marin Headlands, Serene Wilderness near San Francisco.
The Marin Headlands is a hilly peninsula at the southernmost end of Marin County, California, USA, located just north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, which connects the two counties and peninsulas. The entire area is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Headlands are famous for their views of the Bay Area, especially of the Golden Gate Bridge.
One of the most unique areas in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Marin Headlands covers various types of histories from the Miwok Indians to the Military, including historic Fort Barry and Fort Cronkhite, the NIKE Missile site and the 150 year-old Point Bonita lighthouse. Other attractions include varied hiking trails, dog friendly Rodeo Beach, and astonishing views of the coast and San Francisco. The explosion of wildflowers in the spring and raptor migration in the fall fill the headlands with year round excitement.

Peruvian food is eclectic. It’s accessible. It embraces multiple cultures and influences from ancient Aztecs to contemporary and cosmopolitan Lima. It’s both familiar and exotic. And when it’s done well, it can be both hearty and elegant.
It seems like an arms-wide-open, anything-goes assortment of flavors, ingredients and techniques.
Peruvian food is seafood. It’s steak, lamb, chicken and pork. It’s even pasta. And it’s all kinds of mashed potatoes – really fancy, complex, sculptural mashed potatoes that include an array of extras such as chicken, fish, vegetables and, yes, even octopus.

Foggy Day at Rodeo Beach
While I was out on the road, one of the things I missed the most was being able to swing by the beach after I finished my route. This is one of my favorite beaches, Rodeo Beach west of Sausalito, CA These rocks are on the south end, and when you can make your way past here(At low tide) there is a smaller beach that is much less visited(called South Rodeo Beach)
