5 Top-Rated Places to Visit in Berkeley, California | United States Travel Guide
5 Top-Rated Places to Visit in Berkeley, USA
Renowned for its prestigious university and appreciated for its offbeat Bohemian spirit, Berkeley is a stimulating place to visit. The university's inspiring Neoclassical buildings stand loftily in a woodsy hilltop location overlooking the San Francisco Bay. Although this idyllic setting feels completely removed from the world, the campus was the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement and the renegade hippie counterculture of the 1960s. Chaotic and bustling Sproul Plaza continues to be an intense scene of student activity: Students, social activists, and drummers still gather here to express themselves in ways that are impossible to ignore. Besides being an intellectual center, Berkeley is a hub for entertainment and gourmet dining. The local organic food movement began here in the '70s with Chez Panisse, a delightful French-California style bistro that's an obligatory stop for foodies. Tourists can enjoy a delicious meal in the Gourmet Ghetto and then watch a world-class performance at one of Berkeley's award-winning theaters. Nature lovers also have a good reason to visit: The city's gorgeous parks and botanical gardens offer spectacular floral displays and stunning panoramic views. Let's see five best places to visit in Berkeley, California.
1. U.C. Berkeley
2. Gourmet Ghetto
3. Lawrence Hall of Science
4. Tilden Park
5. Botanical Garden

THE GIANT REDWOODS OF MUIR WOODS | Marin County, California
This is the last day of our trip in San Francisco and Napa Valley. We had a quick breakfast at the Model Bakery in Downtown Napa and then we drove one hour to the Muir Woods National Monument where you can see giant redwoods.
After visiting the Muir Woods Giant Redwoods trees we drove over to Sausalito and had a delicious seafood lunch at Scoma's seafood restaurant right on the water.
From there we drove to the there different lookout points to see the Golden Gate Bridge. We went to Marine Headlands, Battery East and Crissy Field. My favorite of the three was Crissy Field.
Have you ever been to Napa Valley?

Edible Excursions Video
When people think of San Francisco, they think about the food scene. The amazing restaurants, artisan bakers, chocolatiers, local farmers, traditional cuisines from all over the world, local growers -- you name it, we've got it. In some ways, it's hard to go wrong...but with so much to choose from, how do you make sure you're experiencing the best of the best? Well, that's where Edible Excursions comes in.
We're totally plugged into what's happening in San Francisco's food scene right now. And the best part is, we share it all in carefully curated, fun, food-centric walking tours.
From insider spots in Japantown to deep in the Mission, where traditional and trendy sit side-by side, Edible Excursions takes you where no other tour can. You'll meet actual owners, learn the stories behind their businesses and, of course, taste the dishes that have everyone buzzing. Our tours are constantly evolving, because in San Francisco, the food scene does, too.
San Francisco's Ferry Building. The Mission. Japantown. Berkeley. Marin. These are the places that have changed the way we eat today. Edible Excursions brings you to the heart of these neighborhoods and connects you with the people who feel most passionate about food as an experience and as a way to bring the community together.
Making Cold-Stoned Sundaes with the Cannabis Creamery: BONG APPÉTIT
Watch the first episode of SMOKEABLES: How to Make a Gravity Bong -
In this episode of Bong Appetit, host Abdullah Saeed checks out Cannabis Creamery, a Sausalito, CA-based ice cream company that is producing sweet THC-infused treats in a range of fantastic flavors. From classic mint-chip to a grapefruit sorbet originally designed for the Grateful Dead, this ice cream is dankly delicious.
Owner Isaac Lappert takes us on a visit to the family’s original business—Lappert’s Ice Cream—to hear Cannabis Creamery’s origin story straight from the horse’s mouth. Isaac’s dad Michael flashes back to the 80s, when the Grateful Dead requested a batch of special ice cream—and the rest, as they say, is history.
After checking out the factory where the medicinal magic happens, Isaac shows us how to make our own batch of cannabis-infused ice cream at home before rounding out the day with a weed ice cream social on the beautiful San Francisco Bay.
