Restoring Balance: Santa Cruz Island
Close to the mainland yet worlds apart, Santa Cruz Island is home to plants and animals that are found nowhere else on Earth. The introduction of of non-native, exotic plants and animals have caused the loss of some of these rare species and pushed many others, including the island fox, to the brink of extinction.
In order to save these island species, as well as protect sacred Chumash Native American cultural sites, the National Park Service and The Nature Conservancy embarked upon a multi-year program to help restore balance to Santa Cruz Island’s naturally functioning ecosystems.
This high-definition video documents the various aspects of this complex restoration program, including the removal of golden eagles, reintroduction of bald eagles, captive breeding island foxes, removal of sheep, and eradication of pigs.
The Santa Cruz Island restoration program is part of the National Park Service mission, as mandated by Congress, to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.

Cycle Santa Cruz to Monterey California | Pacific Coast Bike Route
NATIONAL PARK TRAVEL VIDEO -
YESTERDAYS VIDEO -
…
Cycling the Pacific Coast bike route from Cycle Santa Cruz to Monterey California.
Day 6. My longest distance cycle ever, well at least at this point. I got up super early, ate, packed up and got on my way quickly. I stopped to grab a coffee and speak to my family on Skype before embarking on the peddle. All was going fantastically well, lovely ride through back roads and farm lands until the G7X decided it had finished it’s career in film making. :( The camera suddenly decided not to turn on. Looks like it was time to start using the DSLR for videos, not sure if it was a blessing in disguise but it does mean the format/style of the videos changes a little from here on out. Im not saying I don’t give it a good effort but filming with the DSLR while cycling is a magnitude harder than with the point and shoot. Short encounter with a freeway and plenty of back roads and cycle routes later I got more coffee and visited an REI. Turned out I bumped into a guy from the hostel in Santa Cruz at the REI! Small world. I went on an unsuccessful beach camping mission which left me 10 miles away from the camp site at 10:30 at night. Absolute mission of a cycle into Monterey and turns out the campsite was at the top of a freaking hill. Not the easiest of finishes nearing midnight after a 5:30am wake up. The adventure continues.

Headline News: U.S. Government approves time travel mission
A corporation convinces the government to take part in its time travel mission by utilizing the Time Travel Academy.
Their plan was to terraform Mars by going backwards in time 3 billion years and stopping an asteroid from striking Mars; if successful Mars would become like Earth and its resources would be for the taking.
Their plan was solid yet what they didn't anticipate was that in 3 billion years Mars would develop a civilization of its own, a warlike malevolent civilization bent on destroying Earth.

Santa Barbara 4K
Santa Barbara (Spanish for Saint Barbara) is the county seat of Santa Barbara County in the U.S. state of California. Situated on a south-facing section of coastline, the longest such section on the West Coast of the United States, the city lies between the steeply rising Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Santa Barbara's climate is often described as Mediterranean, and the city has been promoted as the American Riviera. As of 2014, the city had an estimated population of 91,196, up from 88,410 in 2010, making it the second most populous city in the county after Santa Maria[13] while the contiguous urban area, which includes the cities of Goleta and Carpinteria, along with the unincorporated regions of Isla Vista, Montecito, Mission Canyon, Hope Ranch, Summerland, and others, has an approximate population of 220,000. The population of the entire county in 2010 was 423,895.
In addition to being a popular tourist and resort destination, the city economy includes a large service sector, education, technology, health care, finance, agriculture, manufacturing, and local government. In 2004, the service sector accounted for fully 35% of local employment. Education in particular is well represented, with four institutions of higher learning on the south coast (the University of California, Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, Westmont College, and Antioch University). The Santa Barbara Airport serves the city, as does Amtrak (most notably the Pacific Surfliner which runs from San Diego to San Luis Obispo). U.S. Highway 101 connects the Santa Barbara area with Los Angeles to the southeast and San Francisco to the northwest. Behind the city, in and beyond the Santa Ynez Mountains, is the Los Padres National Forest, which contains several remote wilderness areas. Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary are located approximately 20 miles (32 km) offshore.

5 Top Tourist Attractions in Carmel, California | US Travel Guide
5 Top Tourist Attractions in Carmel
Carmel-by-the-Sea is a romantic seaside destination, renowned for its spectacular sandy beach. This charming coastal resort captivates visitors with its enchanting village ambience. In a setting that's delightfully far removed from the real world, tree-shaded streets are lined with lovely Victorian buildings and little storybook cottages. Hidden passageways and quiet courtyards add to the magical Old World ambience. The fact that Carmel does not use numbered street addresses (GPS cannot pinpoint a specific location) encourages wandering. While tourists stroll around town, they'll stumble upon quaint artisan boutiques, cutesy one-of-a-kind shops, world-class art galleries, and inviting fine-dining restaurants. Local businesses cater to clientele seeking a pampering vacation experience. After spending the day at the beach or taking scenic walks along the coastline, the peaceful town of Carmel-by-the-Sea is a welcome place to spend a quiet night in a luxurious bed & breakfast or historic inn. Carmel is also a great starting point to explore nearby Monterey, just four miles away, or to take a drive along the stunning Big Sur coastline.

Shark Fin Cove - Santa Cruz, CA - DJI Mavic 2 Pro
One of my favorite beach spots on the coast between Santa Cruz and Davenport is Shark Fin Cove. It's a tiny beach close to highway 1 with easy parking. BE CAREFUL it's got a steep and slippery trail. Watch out for poison oak, it's everywhere. The beach has a cool cave and a huge shark fin shaped rock formation. There is also some form of drainage tunnel that goes back into the hillside under the highway. Let me know in the comments what's back there...
This was created with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro:
