Visit to the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, California
Here is a quick tour of the Reagan Ranch Center Exhibit Galleries in this 22,000 sq ft facility next to the Amtrak station on State Street in Santa Barbara. Here you will find personal items and artifacts on display from Reagan's Santa Barbara ranch, Rancho del Cielo. Interactive and interesting exhibits. A nice complement to displays at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. One neat item on display is a 1981 blue Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 given by Nancy Reagan to the President on April 2, 1983 as a late birthday present. I should have asked how they got that in there on the 2nd floor of the building! More information about the Reagan Ranch Center Galleries at

Still Point in a Turning World Ronald Reagan and his Ranch
Economic catastrophe; unending war; spiritual decline: Ronald Reagan came to power during the darkest days of Cold War America. He turned malaise into a renewed belief in America itself, forever changing the course of modern history. Young America's Foundation presents a film by award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon: Still Point in a Turning World, the definitive examination of Ronald Reagan's beloved ranch and its personification of his philosophy and values. Ronald Reagan's Rancho del Cielo, the 'Ranch in the Sky', was not just a respite from the chaos that his Presidency encountered, but also a living embodiment of the values he held dear; where hard work and self-reliance showed themselves in the principles he championed for all Americans: Freedom, Prosperity, and Victory. Explore the Ranch as few have, in this moving film, and see why it cast a spell on the man who became one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

200-Acre Brush Fire Burning In Santa Barbara’s Refugio Canyon
A 200-acre brush fire is burning in Santa Barbara’s Refugio Canyon.
Some reports said the fire, which started at about 15 acres, grew to about 250 acres after nightfall.
The blaze has been dubbed the Sherpa Fire because it started near Sherpa Ranch.
The fire was first reported around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.
KCAL9’s Tom Wait reported from the command center at Refugio State Beach in Goleta, about a mile from the Reagan Ranch.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, no structures have been damaged but some homes are threatened as of 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for Refugio Canyon, Las Flores Canyon and Venadito Canyon.
About 250 residents have been displaced.
Authorities said the fire is growing and started at the top of the canyon and is working its way south toward the beach.
There are no reports of injuries.
At present, firefighters are battling the blaze from the ground and air, including a DC-10 and eight air tankers
