Katy Perry at the Santa Barbara County bowl witness benefit concert May 19, 2018
A-list superstar, Katy Perry performs her witness benefit concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl on May 19, 2018 to a sold out crowd of local residents who recently went through a horrific natural disaster. Back in January 9, 2018, the catastrophic mudflows swept through Montecito and soon after, To local grassroots organizations formed to help the community. The bucket brigade and the Sb support network have risen to the top as having the greatest impact on locals. This concert is the benefit those types of movements and help our community.
Shot and edited by SB native Joe Parker, father, husband, Realtor, and surfer.

Graham Nash on the Santa Barbara Bowl
On September 20, 2014, Graham Nash, David Crosby, and Stephen Stills returned to the Santa Barbara Bowl as part of their Summer 2014 tour. Graham Nash sat down with Bowl film-maker Russ Spencer for an amazing interview on camera (many thanks to Mr. Nash for taking time out of his busy day). Nash describes the vibes he gets when playing at the Santa Barbara Bowl as ones that remind him of the excitement he first had when coming to the United States from Britain. But it's not the warm, California sunshine that brings comfort to Nash and the band, but it's the community's respect and friendliness that make theSB Bowl really feel like home.
Nash recently released his autobiography “Wild Tales” and recognizes the incredible life journey he’s had so far, but that doesn’t mean he’s done having adventures. On the contrary, his goal is to live every moment to the fullest so that when its time for bed, every day would be worth adding a page to his in autobiography. And so, Nash continues to perform in venues like the SB Bowl, where he is reminded of the joys of home and the excitement of life.

Inside Santa Barbara December 2019
Now in its 20th year, Inside Santa Barbara is Santa Barbara’s only news magazine show and gives in-depth coverage of the City’s most significant issues, projects, and events. The award-winning show is produced by the City of Santa Barbara and hosted by Larry Good. This episode of Inside Santa Barbara covers:
• Westside Transportation Management: The city of Santa Barbara is prioritizing bicycle and pedestrian safety and there are now some projects on the drawing board, and some already in progress on the West Side of town, that will give this area an entirely new look and feel.
• De La Guerra Bridge: New construction began to replace the 105 year old structurally deficient De La Guerra Street Bridge over Mission Creek.
• Measure C: Learn about several recent infrastructure improvement projects to City fire stations funded through the voter passed sales tax Measure C
• New Park Rules: Take a tour through Santa Barbara’s numerous parks and open spaces to learn about some new rules recently adopted to make them even more enjoyable and safe.
• Airport Disaster Drill: Flying is considered the safest form of transportation. That doesn’t mean Airports don’t need to be prepared for an aircraft accident. In fact, the FAA requires all airports, including Santa Barbara Airport, to conduct drills to prepare and train for such an emergency.
• Creeks and Ocean Health Best Practices: Keeping our Creeks and Oceans clean is not only beneficial for all the residents of Santa Barbara, but also for our aquatic friends as well. In this segment you will hear how your neighbors do their part to keep this important natural resource thriving.
• Gibraltar 100th Anniversary: Gibraltar Reservoir is one of 4 major reservoirs in Santa Barbara County. It supplies drinking water from the Santa Ynez river to the residents of the City of Santa Barbara and in 2020 it will celebrate its 100th Anniversary.
The Santa Barbara Bowl's Stunning New Scranton Overlook
Eric Lassen introduces us to the Santa Barbara Bowl's new Scranton Overlook. Located at the very top of the amphitheater, it gives the public another place to buy beverages and use the restroom. But due its quality design, it also creates a new gathering place with sweeping views and lots of romance.

Knapp's Castle Santa Barbara, CA Walkthrough
Today I took a small hike up to Knapp's Castle and had a look around. This is a really unique place and it is a short hike for pretty much anyone. I shot the video using the #Kodak #PixPro360 and my #iPhone6plus with the #indiesolo smartphone stabilizer from #gripgear. Hope you enjoy my video and please head over to my website and enter your email address so you stay up to date on everything that I am working on. Stay tuned as there is a lot of cool new videos coming soon!
Here is some info and history from Wiki:
George Owen Knapp, founder of Union Carbide, built Knapp's Castle shortly after purchasing the 160-acre (0.65 km2) parcel in 1916. In 1940, Frances Holden bought the property and invited her friend, world-famous opera singer Lotte Lehmann, to move in. The mansion was destroyed by a forest fire only five weeks later, and now only the massive sandstone foundations, fireplace pillars and walls of the original seven structures remain intact. The parcel is still privately owned but open to the public.
In January 2011, the site was undergoing new construction by the property owner, with a stone amphitheatre-style addition, some reinforcements, and other work. The county ordered a stop to the construction due to a lack of permits, but the construction equipment remains on site.

Places to see in ( Santa Barbara - USA )
Places to see in ( Santa Barbara - USA )
Perfect weather, beautiful buildings, excellent bars and restaurants in Santa Barbara California, and activities for all tastes and budgets make Santa Barbara a great place to live and a must-see place for visitors to Southern California. Check out the Spanish Mission church first, then just see where the day takes you.
Santa Barbara is a city on the central California coast, with the Santa Ynez Mountains as dramatic backdrop. Downtown, Mediterranean-style white stucco buildings with red-tile roofs reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage. Upscale boutiques and restaurants offering local wines and seasonal fare line State Street. On a nearby hill, Mission Santa Barbara, founded in 1786, houses Franciscan friars and a museum.
Santa Barbara has a range of neighborhoods with distinctive histories, architectures, and cultures. The Mesa stretches 2.5 miles (4.0 km) from Santa Barbara City College on the east to Arroyo Burro County Beach (or Hendry's/The Pit to locals) on the west. The Mesa embodies a beach vibe. The neighborhood has beach access to Mesa Lane Beach, as well as Thousand Steps Beach. Mission Canyon contains the wooded hilly area beginning at the Old Mission and extending along Foothill Road, north and east into Mission Canyon Road and Las Canoas Road.
The Riviera encompasses an ocean-facing hillside and back hillside extending for approximately two miles, with the north side extending from Foothill Road to Sycamore Canyon Road, and the south side from the Santa Barbara Mission to North Salinas Street. The Westside (west of State Street) lies predominantly in the lowlands between State Street and the Mesa, including Highway 101, and also reaches down to Cliff Drive, incorporating Santa Barbara City College.
The Eastside (east of State Street) is generally the area east of State to the base of the Riviera, and includes Santa Barbara Junior High School, Santa Barbara High School, and the Santa Barbara Bowl. The Waterfront comprises roughly commercial and tourist-oriented business structures along Cabrillo Blvd including Stearns Wharf, the Santa Barbara Harbor and the breakwater, and extending East toward the Bird Refuge and West along Shoreline Drive above the SBCC campus West.
Upper State Street is a residential and commercial district that includes numerous professional offices, and much of the medical infrastructure of the city. San Roque is located northwest of the downtown area and north of Samarkand. This area is said to be a constant 5 degrees warmer than the coastal areas, due to its greater distance from the ocean than other Santa Barbara neighborhoods. The name Samarkand comes from an Old Persian word meaning the land of heart's desire. It was first applied to a deluxe Persian-style hotel that was converted from a boys' school in 1920. Samarkand later became identified as its own neighborhood located between Las Positas, State Street, De La Vina, Oak Park and the Freeway.
