Sutton Bonington is a village and civil parish lying along the valley of the River Soar in the Borough of Rushcliffe, south west Nottinghamshire, England. The University of Nottingham has a 420 hectares site just to the north of the village: Sutton Bonington Campus. The parish covers some 2,183 acres and includes the hamlet of Zouch. The population is about 1,600,increasing at the 2011 census to 2,202, not including the students at the university campus who bring the total to over 2,200 in term time. The University of Nottingham operates from four campuses in Nottinghamshire and from two overseas campuses, one in Ningbo, China and the other in Semenyih, Malaysia. The Ningbo campus was officially opened on 23 February 2005 by the then British Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, in the presence of Chinese education minister Zhou Ji and State Counsellor Chen Zhili. The Malaysia campus was the first purpose-built UK university campus in a foreign country and was officially opened by Najib Tun Razak on 26 September 2005. Najib Tun Razak, as well as being a Nottingham alumnus, was Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia at the time and has since become Prime Minister of Malaysia. Suttons is the ultimate gift store. The products range from fancy and sophisticated to simple and charming. They carry collector's items as well as local products. They sell delicious baked goods, chocolates and gourmet food. They also sell a variety of holiday and seasonal items. You can eat breakfast or lunch in their country cafe'. They have a large menu with fresh, high quality food.

John O'Gaunt Disused Railway Viaduct, Leicestershire, UK

This is the John O'Gaunt viaduct that was once on the Great Northern and London & North Western joint line in Leicestershire.

The viaduct spans almost 230 yards, with 14 arches rising to a height of around 60 feet.

Once an outstanding structure, it now looks rather sorry for itself when viewed up-close and from underneath. There are a number of patches and many of the arches have stress fractures beneath them, with regular structural surveys now being required.

It’s current condition, and the cost of maintenance, now brings into question the future of this beautiful structure. The question now though is, for how much longer will it remain standing?
