Cool Areas to Visit in London (That You've Never Heard Of)
Forget London Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square... those areas are super-touristy, crowded, and don't show the character of London. In this video I'm taking you to three areas in London where Londoners enjoy spending time, and that show you the side of the city that is full of character and diverse.

INDIAN Food with 100,000 PEOPLE at the WORLD'S BIGGEST Kitchen! Golden Temple, Amritsar, India
In my 10 years of traveling the world, few places have left as big of an impression on me than India. This is a truly beautiful and remarkable country, filled with loving, warm, and friendly people, a stunning and fascinating culture, and some of the best food anywhere on Earth. There are profound experiences to be had at nearly every turn here, and I had one of my own when I visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar with my travel buddy Sam and our new friend Deepak.

On day two of our time in Amritsar, I knew I wanted to visit the Golden Temple, also known as Darbar Sahib or Sri Harmandir Sahib. Amritsar is a holy city for those who practice the Sikh religion, and the more than 400-year-old Golden Temple is the most significant shrine for Sikhs in the world. The temple welcomes people of all faiths and walks of life. Everyone is considered equal here. It is also home to the biggest free kitchen in the world, which is open 24 hours a day! Come along with me, Sam, and Deepak as we experience the beauty and wonders of The Golden Temple!

You have to wear proper attire when you go to the Golden Temple, so my first order of business was buying a shirt at a nearby shop for 700 rupees. Then I chose an orange turban. You can rent a turban here, but I decided to buy mine for 300 rupees. Getting my head wrapped was such a relaxing experience. It was almost like getting a head massage! I also bought a bracelet to complete my look. Just call me David Singh!
On our way to the temple, we passed a Jallianwala Bagh Memorial, which commemorates the thousands of victims of a mass shooting by members of the British Indian Army, which took place in Amritsar in 1919. The incident and its aftermath are considered by historians to be a decisive step toward the end of British rule in India.
Before you enter the temple, you have to take off your shoes and deposit them, and wash your hands and feet. After we were all nice and clean, we watched the queue of thousands of people lining up to enter the temple. The smog in the air partially shrouding the temple added a level of mystique to the scene before us. It was absolutely beautiful. After admiring the view, and watching people bathe in the water between us and the temple, we made our way to the langar, or kitchen, where roughly 100,000 people are served per day, with between 2,000 and 3,000 visitors dining together inside the kitchen’s two dining halls for fifteen minutes at a time.
As we walked through the kitchen, we watched people make flatbreads, saw a machine that makes roti, and witnessed the cooks preparing massive vats of dal, which contain 500kg of lentils! The aroma was so potent. I couldn’t wait to eat!
After chatting with some of my fellow diners, we were served some maa ki dal, chickpea chole, a dessert called kheer, and flatbread. The dal was so delicious and flavorful! You can tell that it’s served and made with love, as Deepak said. Here, he says, there is no rank, no caste, no color, no religion here. Everyone is treated equally, which is how I believe the world should always be. Here, volunteers clean everything, from the floors to the dishes and utensils. This place is a bastion of love and positive energy. You can feel it the moment you walk in, and I couldn’t help but get emotional after having such a beautiful experience. Come to The Golden Temple. It will change your life.
I hope you enjoyed our incredible visit to The Golden Temple. If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and leave me a comment below. And please subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already so you don’t miss out on any of my upcoming food and travel content!

AMRITSAR VISIT 2019 | SHOPPING | FOOD | PLACES TO SEE | अमृतसर
#amritsar #vlog #theexplorerraj
This Amritsar Vlog features all about this city like Places to Eat, Places for Shopping and Places to see.
Amritsar is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab, 28 kilometers from the border with Pakistan. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Shri Darbar Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe.
In this Episode I have explored places in Amritsar like Jallianwala Bagh too. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, involving the killings of hundreds of Indian civilians on the orders of a senior British military officer, Reginald Edward Harry Dyer, took place on 13 April 1919 in the heart of Amritsar, the holiest city of the Sikhs, on a day sacred to them as the birth anniversary of the Khalsa (Vaisakhi day).
Secondly I explored Gobindgarh Fort. Gobindgarh Fort is a historic fort located in the center of the city of Amritsar in the Indian state of Punjab. The Fort was earlier occupied by the army but is now open to the public from 10 February 2017.Today the fort is being developed as a unique live museum, as a repository of Punjab’s history. This is a must see tourist location.
How can I forget Shopping in Amritsar. Amritsar is famous for Phulkari. Phulkari is embroidery technique from the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent, literally means flower work, which was at one time used as the word for embroidery, but in time the word “Phulkari” became restricted to embroidered shawls and head scarfs. But you will find many shops here selling this art.
I visited Khalchian Wale Di Hatti which is the best shop selling Punjabi Phulkari Suits and Dupattas. I have an exclusive episode featuring this shop which can be seen here by clicking on this link.

Part 2-
How can one forget Punjabi Juttis while in Amritsar. For this I visited Ruaab Punjabi Jutti. This is highly recommended shop to buy Punjabi Jutti. You can watch my shopping experience of this shop as a complete Episode here -
How can I forget about delicious food here in Amritsar. I have covered places like Bharawan da Dhaba, Mahajan Kulfi, Gian Di lassi, Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Wale, Brijwasi Chat Bhandar, Gurdass Ram Jalebi and much more. I have exclusive Amritsar Food Tour which can be watched here -
Overall I had a great experience in this Holy City and this Heritage City is highly recommended to feel the North Indian Culture. Watch the complete Episode to know more.

Volunteers serve langar during Gurpurab festival celebration
A Langar is an offering of free food to devotees served in various places during Gurpurab festival celebration in Delhi. Langar can take place in other festival and religious occasion.
Guru Nanak Gurpurab also known as Guru Nanak's Prakash Utsav and Guru Nanak Jayanti, celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak. This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism. Apart from Sikhs, Hindus and other followers of Guru Nanak's philosophy also celebrate this festival.
The festivities in the Sikh religion revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. These Gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs. Their birthdays, known as Gurpurab (or Gurpurb), are occasions for celebration and prayer among the Sikhs.
Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, was born on 15 April 1469 in Rai-Bhoi-di Talwandi in the present Shekhupura District of Pakistan, now Nankana Sahib. His birth is celebrated on Kartik Poornima, the full moon day in the month of Kartik. In the Gregorian Calendar, the celebration usually falls in the month of November, but its date varies from year to year, based on the traditional dates of the Indian calendar. It is a Gazetted holiday in India.
