Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza's colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor's hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings tombs. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks like Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities.

TRAVEL GUIDE DUBAI | WEEKEND | Attractions and must sees!
In April, I made a weekend trip to Dubai and discovered that many of the prejudices I had about the city did not match. During the weekend I did many things, from four-wheel drive in the desert to the world's tallest house (Burj Khalifa), The Lost Chambers and also some shopping. In this movie, I show my best tips for the first time traveler to Dubai.
English subtitles available!
Places shown in the movie:
Atlantis, Burj Khalifa, Burj al Arab, The Lost Chambers, the fountain at Dubai Mall, Ski Dubai, Desert Safari Camp, Dubai Metro, and more.
I have blogged about the trip:

12 Things NOT To Do in Iraq
# 12 Things NOT To Do in Iraq
By:
Iraq is a lovely place.
So know these 12 Things NOT to Do, before you go!
1. Try Not to stand out
Rather than driving fast, surrounded by bodyguards try to blend in as much as possible. Women should dress in local fashion and men should grow out their facial hair.
2. Don't Step On Bread!
Bread is a highly treasured food in Iraq. If you happen across a fallen hunk in the street don't step on it or touch it with your feet!
3. Don't Visit the Borders.
Don't travel near the Syrian, Turkish, or Iranian borders. You may encounter large refugee flows.
4. Don't Bring Bad Luck.
When Iraqis buy a new appliance they will crack an egg over it to wash away any bad luck! Iraqis are very superstitious.
5. Don't Get Jumpy!
You often may see a group of Iraqis shouting and firing rifles. But it's just a traditional way of celebrating a wedding or event. Each tribe has a different song.
6. Don't Bring Bad Luck!
If an Iraqi buys a new car, he may sacrifice a rooster for good luck. If it's a new house he may sacrifice a lamb!
7. Don't Leave the Safe Zones.
Generally speaking, southern Iraq is safer than the Sunni Triangle, and a traveler must be particularly careful in Baghdad, where there are some highly dangerous neighborhoods.
8. DON'T BRING BAD LUCK!
Don't be surprised to find an old shoe hanging in a new house! Iraqis are VERY superstitious!
9. Don't Forget Shots!
The CDC recommends travelers get Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccines as you can get these diseases through contaminated food or water in Iraq.
10. Don't Compliment Children!
Don't tell an Iraqi how well-behaved or handsome their child is. They believe this could jinx them with The Evil Eye.
11. Don't Eat Around!
In many places you may find yourself eating from a communal dish. In this case only take the portion that's directly in front of you.
12. Don't Eat with Your Left Hand!
According to the Prophet Muhammad, you should only use your right hand. The left hand is reserved for other things...
Now you can enjoy your stay in this stunningly beautiful and diverse country!

10 of Europe’s Strangest Attractions
Get more Tips here!
All around Europe there are destinations odd and tantalizing in equal measure. They’re a little out there, but you just might find your next inspired vacation destination. Dare to live on the wild side and check out these weird European travel destinations.
1. Avanos Hair Museum, Turkey
This collection belong to Galip, it has locks of hair from more than 16,000 women … which is not creepy at all … . Twice a year, the first customer in his shop is asked down to the basement to pick ten “exhibits” as the winner of an all-expenses-paid trip to Cappadocia, Turkey.
2. The Phallus Museum, Iceland
Live out your darkest Freudian dreams at the Phallus Museum in Reykjavik, Iceland. The museum proudly houses “a collection of phallic specimens belonging to all the various types of mammal found in a single country.”
3. Cathedral of Justo, Spain
In the little town of Mejorada del Campo, an ex-monk named Justo Gallego has spent more than fifty years building a cathedral by himself. It is more impressive considering that he has no formal training in architecture or engineering.
4. Petrified Forest of Lesvos, Greece
The petrified forest has been a fixture of the island’s geography for thousands of years, since a violent period of volcanic activity flooded the island with lave and preserved an entire forest.
5. Starkenberger Brewery’s Beer Pools, Austria
There may be a lot of breweries scattered throughout Europe, but Starkenberger Brewery is the only one that lets visitors swim in the beer. Seven 13-foot swimming pools, each filled with 42,000 pints of beer, are available to travelers.
6. Museum of Broken Relationships, Croatia
The concept behind Zagreb’s Museum of Broken Relationships proved so intriguing that it has inspired sister branches in Los Angeles and Tokyo. The strange little collection showcases the mementos of relationships that have imploded.
7. Portugal dos Pequenitos, Portugal
Opened in 1940, Portugal dos Pequenitos is precisely what its name translates to: Little Ones. Everything from the country’s most famous monuments to traditional Portuguese homes has been recreated in miniature, so visitors can see everything Portugal has to offer without actually taking the time to visit every attraction.
8. Mundaneum, Belgium
Beginning in 1910, Otlet and Nobel Peace Prize winner Henri LaFontaine started collecting every piece of knowledge available to humanity and then recording it on an index card, resulting in 12 million perfectly sorted cards of information across every conceivable academic discipline.
9. Pripyat, Ukraine
Afetr the worst nuclear disaster in human history, the 49,000 people who lived in Pripyat, were forced to evacuate and then unable to return for years. Now they are losing the fight against nature. If spooky ghost towns are your deal, you cannot do better than Pripyat.
10. The Nose Academy, Sweden
It keeps 100 meticulously arranged plaster casts of Scandinavian noses. From famous people you probably wouldn’t recognize to non-famous people, the Nose Museum is indeed worth the trip. Okay, it’s only worth the trip because of its weird factor.
Which of these strange attractions did you find the weirdest?

8 Things NOT to Do in Russia!
Get more Tips here! destinationtips.com
A lot of people have been asking about things not to do in Russia, so here it is!
1. Don’t Smile Without a Reason
The Russians have a saying: “To smile with no reason, is a sign of a fool.” So don’t randomly smile at strangers while you’re riding on public transportation or shopping in Moscow.
2. Don’t Shake Hands With Your Gloves On
It is considered extremely impolite to leave your gloves on while greeting someone with a handshake. So make sure you remove your gloves before any interaction occurs.
3. Don’t Show Up Empty Handed
If you’re invited over to someone’s house for a dinner or a visit, it is considered very rude to show up empty handed. Bring a small gift!
4. Don’t Ever Give a Gift of an Empty Wallet
Russians believe that giving a gift of an empty wallet or purse is bad luck. They see it as wishing financial hardship or poverty on the receiver of the gift. Put some cash in it, for goodness sake.
5. Don’t Leave Your Shoes On
Whenever entering a Russian home it is proper custom to remove your shoes. Many homes are decorated with expensive Persian rugs that are difficult to clean.
6. Don’t Whistle Indoors
Like many Asian cultures, whistling indoors in Russia is considered bad luck. Russians are very superstitious and believe that whistling inside may cause financial ruin, poverty, or another invasion of cockroaches.
7. Don’t Refuse a Shot
Sharing a drink is considered a sign of hospitality. Russians don’t see one shot as a big deal either, so to them a refusal comes off as untrusting or turning down friendship.
8. Don’t Sit at the Corner of the Table
This is another Russian superstition. It is said that “the one who chooses a seat at the corner of a table is destined to never be married or find their lover.”
