VULCANO HEAD FRAME

Somewhere in Bergslagen, close to Ludvika, Sweden.

The head frame ”Vulcanos Lave” was built as late as 1960. The design is reminiscent of the old head frames that was built in wood 100 year earlier. The stairs inside the head frame is rotten and falling apart, so be careful if you go there.

The other surrounding buildings include the hoist-building, approx 80 meters away from the head frame, and there’s a tall wooden structure for the cables between the hoist and the head frame. The last building in the video is probably where they kept the ore samples.

The big building/structure made of concrete and stones with the tunnel inside is very dangerous to enter. The metal rails that holds up the ceiling with all the big stones on top is almost gone from rust. Stay out, stay alive! :)

The other house might be some kind of office or cabin for the miners?

There’s many other buildings and structures from the mining era in the area, including a giant head frame/building made of concrete (that’s over 400 meters long). Maybe you know where it is now? hehe.
