Leeds City Transport 2nd Vintage Bus Running Day
Leeds was the place to be on the 23rd August for The Leeds City Transport's 2nd Vintage Bus Running Day. A variety of buses operated a 15 minute service over two routes.
Route 46 was Leeds Industrial Museum, Armley to Thwaite Mills, Hunslet, via the City centre, and Route 26 was Middleton Railway to Kirkstall Abbey, via the City Centre, This is only the second LCT Running Day, Which is hard to believe as it is so well organised even with the addition of a second route. This is an excellent event for both Bus enthusiast and casual visitor alike.
Many Thanks to everyone involved for a well organised, friendly and thoroughly enjoyable event.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWR, GWSR or Gloucs-Warks Steam Railway) is a volunteer-run heritage railway which runs along the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border in the West Midlands, England.
The GWSR has restored and reopened 12 miles (19 km) of line, operating between Cheltenham Racecourse and the site of Laverton Halt. The company is currently raising £1.5 million to extend 3 miles (4.8 km) northwards to Broadway, and will eventually begin working on plans to extend a further 6 miles (9.7 km) to Honeybourne, (where one half of an island platform has since been left unrebuilt for their future usage (Wikipedia).

On April 23rd, 2016, as part of a belated birthday trip, I went to the Nene Valley Railway for the first time and see not only the Star Tugs Company, but I also went to see a recently discovered steam engine named 'Newstead'.

Statfold Barn Railway Does Jeff Cogan Proud:
The Statfold Barn Railway today (17th October 2015) hosted a private event to celebrate the life of Jeff Cogan who passed away very suddenly on the night of 6th September. Jeff was well known by many for his passion & involvement with the railway scene & a number of railways (of all guages!) including Statfold and the Echills Wood Railway where He was most often seen operating the 'Middle Box' at the level crossing.
Today was an opportunity for everyone who knew Jeff to have an enjoyable afternoon in surroundings that were close to his heart & for his best friend Ken Bull to give him the most appropriate 'send off' amongst many friends & fellow Enthusiasts. R.I.P
NOTE: The Statfold Barn Railway is privately owned & operated & not generally open to the public except by invitation:
