Brewood refers both to a settlement, which was once a town but is now a village, in South Staffordshire, England, and to the civil parish of which it is the centre. Located around grid reference SJ883088, Brewood village lies near the River Penk, eight miles north of Wolverhampton city centre and eleven miles south of the county town of Stafford. Some three miles to the west of Brewood is the border with the county of Shropshire.

St Peter's Collegiate Church is located on the northern side of central Wolverhampton, England. For many centuries it was a chapel royal, and from 1480 a royal peculiar, independent of the Diocese of Lichfield and even the Province of Canterbury. The collegiate church was central to the development of the town of Wolverhampton, much of which belonged to its dean. Until the 18th century, it was the only church in Wolverhampton and the control of the college extended far into the surrounding area, with dependent chapels in several towns and villages of southern Staffordshire. Shropshire Union Canal - Hurleston Junction to Nantwich

A two mile stroll along the Shropshire Union Canal (Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal) from Hurleston Junction (the junction with the Welsh Canal) and Nantwich.

This stretch, particularly from Nantwich Basin to the Nantwich Aqueduct, is effectively one huge, linear narrowboat park slowing down progress to a maximum of two miles per hour, or in our case with Blind Hannibal MacSlackbladder at the helm any glaciers in the area would have passed us with ease.

Nantwich itself is a good shopping centre and the road leading from the aqueduct to the town centre is lined with pubs all of which seem to do good value meals.

Boscobel House (grid reference SJ837082) is a Grade II* listed building in the parish of Boscobel in Shropshire. It has been, at various times; a farmhouse, a hunting lodge, and a holiday home; but it is most famous for its role in the escape of Charles II after the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
