Biggest waterfall in the United Kingdom, 200 meters (Eas a' Chual Aluinn)
The biggest waterfall in the United Kingdom (Eas a' Chual Aluinn)
Eas a' Chual Aluinn (grid reference NC281278) in the parish of Assynt, Sutherland, Highland, Scotland, is the highest waterfall in the United Kingdom [1] with a sheer drop of 658 ft (200 m). When in full flow it is over three times higher than Niagara Falls.
The waterfall can be reached by a six-mile walk across boggy ground from the road three miles south of Kylesku in Sutherland. In good weather, a boat-trip runs from the slipway by the Kylesku Hotel to Loch Beag, from where the waterfall is visible.
The name is a corruption of Scottish Gaelic Eas a' Chùil Àlainn, (waterfall of the beautiful tresses).
Single Shot Scotland - Loch na Gainmhich
Located in the north west corner of Scotland, this loch is situated amongst the untouched natural beauty of Scotland. Nearby, you can find the Eas A Chual Aluinn Waterfall, which is an incredible sight to see as tonnes of water tumbles over the edge on to the rocks and valley below. This waterfall is also the highest in Britain and takes you into the heart of Assynt’s rocky landscape past pretty lochans and streams to reach the top.

Hidden Highlands
It may be one of the most recognisable corners of Scotland, but there is still a lot you don’t know about the Highlands.
Witness the stark beauty of the region, with jagged cliffs, towering Munros and faraway castles framing the landscape. Explore the hidden history of Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, near Wick, or scale the summit of Stac Pollaidh, near Ullapool.
Go off the beaten track. Perhaps you’ll find that a mountain biking adventure is on the cards at the Abriachan Forest? Or, see what you can discover in the wildest corners of the Cairngorms National Park.
Feel the breeze as you explore some of the area’s most impressive yet undiscovered coastlines, from the pristine sands of Sanna Bay to the north westerly shores of Assynt.
Eat or drink something truly delicious –the region is famous for its produce, with restaurants cooking up freshly-caught seafood, homemade treats and quality meat. Try a dish at the Ghille Brighde Restaurant on the shores of Loch Torridon, and follow it up with a tasty dram of Speyside single malt.
For new experiences and unexpected discoveries, head for the Highlands!

Millican Fraser Rucksack 32L Review | Heritage Style Backpack For One Bag Travel & EDC
The Millican Fraser Rucksack 32L has impressed us with its durability, versatility, and comfortable carry. We just wish the external straps wouldn’t dangle as much. View Details & Buy:

In this review, we are taking a look at the Fraser Rucksack 32L from British backpack specialists, Millican. Located in the English Lake District, Millican emphasizes durability and sustainability with the aim of creating “lifelong companions for the conscious traveler.” We’re big fans of the brand ethos, and it’s something we can get behind here at Pack Hacker…but none of this matters if the bag fails to deliver!
We’ve been testing this backpack for the last three months and it’s seen use as a one bag travel pack on a trip around the UK, a daypack full of tech gear to work from coffee shops, and a gym bag thrown in the trunk of a car.
The Fraser Rucksack 32L has impressed us with its durability, versatility, and comfortable carry. Not to mention the top-notch Bionic® Canvas fabric exclusive to Millican. While the external straps can dangle a bit much for our liking and the water bladder pass-through hole could be tweaked for better weather resistance, the Fraser Rucksack 32L is a fantastic heritage style backpack with modern features that won’t let you down.

Scotland is the birthplace of whiskey, the telephone, and penicillin… and in 2010, the backpack/travel accessory company, Trakke! Okay, so maybe Trakke doesn’t quite belong alongside those three just yet, but it’s a bag company on the up that’s really making a name for itself.
The Storr backpack—like all of Trakke’s products—is handmade in Scotland from durable materials sourced within the UK. And if that isn’t good enough, it also comes with free repairs forever. Like, forever forever. And we haven’t even gotten to the good part yet. This 30L backpack is designed specifically for one bag travel!
Here at Pack Hacker, we’re pretty big on one bag travel—quite possibly the understatement of the year—so you can imagine we were super excited to put the Trakke Storr to the test. And put it to the test we did! Over the last two months, this pack has seen use in mountains of Spain and the hills surrounding Stonehenge in the West Country of England. Our expectations ran pretty high for this bag, so let’s dive right in and find out how this thing worked in the real world.
The Trakke Storr is one of the most beautifully crafted bags we’ve ever tested, and the pros heavily outweigh any minor gripes we have this pack. It’s handmade in Scotland, from quality materials sourced from within the UK, and even comes with free repairs forever! At 30 liters, this pack is ideal for minimal one bag travel—it looks good in many different environments and can handle just about any adventure you throw at it. If you’re in the market for investing in a bag that you can trust will last you a lifetime—and maybe even a few years after that—then the Trakke Storr is worth checking out!

We ended up coming across a beach and some castles that were basically tourist free and then at the end we managed to go see this BEAUTIFUL waterfall. I didn't know such place existed in UK.

A trip to Sandwood Bay, Sutherland
One of our clients, Catriona, was taken ill during her trip to the North West Highlands. It had been her dream to visit a remote beach, Sandwood Bay as part of that holiday. We decided to give her a surprise to make up for her ruined holiday. It was such an honour to learn what these wild places mean to her and be a part of her journey there.
