Places to see in ( North Walsham - UK )
North Walsham is a market town and civil parish in Norfolk, England within the North Norfolk district. North Walsham is 7.5 miles (12.1 kilometres) south of Cromer and the same distance north of Wroxham. The county town and city of Norwich is 15 miles (24 kilometres) south. The town is served by North Walsham railway station, on the Bittern Line between Norwich, Cromer and Sheringham. The main road through the town of North Walsham is the A149. Also, North Walsham is located on the B1145.
North Walsham is on the North Walsham & Dilham Canal, still privately owned by the North Walsham Canal Company. The canal ran from Antingham Mill, largely following the course of the River Ant to a point below Honing. A short branch canal leaves the main navigation near Honing and terminates at the village of Dilham.
North Walsham was involved in the Peasants' Revolt of 1381. The peasants' leaders were defeated at the Battle of North Walsham and the site is marked by a wayside stone near the town's water towers.
North Walsham High School is a community school, for pupils aged 11 to 16 located in the town. The school includes a £5.3m arts and education development called the Atrium which is open to the wider community, funded by the initial co-location funds of reanimating communities. The building belongs to North Walsham High School, but the theatre, cinema, workshop and events programme is run by a registered charity. The charity (The Atrium North Norfolk Ltd) formed in early 2013 and operates as 'the Atrium'.
North Walsham now has a cinema once again, in the form of the Atrium which opened in 2011. The Atrium is a state-of-the-art theatre and cinema with regular screenings and special events around the films. North Walsham is home to a London 1 North rugby team. North Walsham R.F.C. narrowly missed out on promotion to National League 2 in 2005-06, losing a play-off to Nuneaton.

The Virtual Tourist walks around Sheringham
Overstrand, Norfolk, UK
SEE MY HISTORY PAGE ON FACEBOOK :
A walk in the village of Overstrand on the north coast of Norfolk, 3km east of Cromer. Starting off on the Royal Cromer Golf Course, I follow a path at the top of the cliff along the sea front before walking through the village.
As can be seen in this film, coastal erosion is a major problem. The soft boulder clay cliffs slump because of the water running through the clay, and the resulting material on the beach is removed by the succeeding high tides. And so the process continues over the years. In the neighbouring village of Sidestrand, the whole church was moved back from the cliff edge in the 19th century, though the tower of the church was left standing on the cliff top.
Out to sea there used to be another town but was unfortunately victim to the seas erosion on East Anglia, this town has been nicknamed Understrand.
The London journalist and travel writer Clement Scott came to Overstrand in 1883, christened the area ''Poppyland'', and wrote about the church tower on the cliff edge and its Garden of Sleep. While in Overstrand he stayed at the Mill House with miller Alfred Jermy and his daughter Louie. Louie became the Maid of the Mill in his articles about ''Poppyland''.
Scott had many London contacts in the theatrical world, and his writings led a number of them and others from London society to come to Overstrand. Some bought land in the village and had houses built there, and for a while the village was the place to visit. A large hotel was built on the cliff edge, though this slid into the sea in the 1950s.
Whilst the large houses of the gentry have largely passed from private ownership to other uses, the visitor to Overstrand can still appreciate the development that took place at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
The Overstrand biplane bomber was named after the village; being made at the nearby Boulton & Paul aircraft factory in the early 1930s
My channel on you tube : is one of the most prolific from Poland. I have produced around 1,800 original films, most in English. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects.
Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating!
There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.
Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

If you are thinking about buying a holiday home, you will soon discover that there are a great deal of different factors to take into consideration, and as with everything in life, plenty of choice. So how can you make the best choice for you?
You’ve made the decision you would like to buy a holiday home, and whether that is along the coast of Folkestone, or nestled in the countryside of Dover or Birchington, here are 3 reasons why to choose Keat Farm for your holiday home;
The Locations
Location, location, location. We are very lucky to have prime locations spanning around the Kentish coast and countryside, so if your first question is coast or countryside, you can enjoy both from any one of our four locations. Each location also benefits from a plethora of amenities and things to do in the local area, so you can fill your time with plenty of exploring, eating, drinking and activities should you chose to.
The Facilities
During low season, and throughout the year when needed, we like to make sure each site is up to the highest standard, not only for our holiday makers, but for the environment and our important local wildlife. We are proud to have achieved Gold in the David Bellamy Conservation awards, in addition to that we have also been acknowledged as a Honey Bee Friendly park. We like to make sure our parks are buzzing with activity, literally, so we are always busy planting new flowers, installing bird houses, hedgehog houses, and anything else to attract some local visitors. During the low season, we take the time to prepare for the summer, with plans to plant wildflowers and herb gardens.
We are also proud to offer recycling facilities as this is of increasing importance to our home owners, in addition to award-winning shower facilities, eco-friendly laundry rooms, eco plots and frequent tree landscaping, across all sites, with plans to continue investment in our facilities. Keep up to date with our park newsletters to see what’s coming up.
The People
Each park has a community hub, generally the café, whereby all sorts of activities take place such as quiz nights, bingo, local garden competitions and seasonal activities.
As a family–owned business, with helpful, friendly staff on hand, and always busy with park activities, each Keat Farm Holiday park offers a strong sense of community which is something we really value.
We like to see you enjoying your holiday home, the parks and everything involved, so will continually invest and develop our parks to make this happen!

Mundesley Circular, 8/6/14
Around 8.5 miles of walking in the North East corner of Norfolk. Setting out from the sea-side resort of Mundesley, the walk then follows the beach until the gas works at Bacton. Thereafter, the walker swings inland to pass some interesting churches, before returning to Mundesley.
The village taking a taste of North Norfolk to West Africa
16 people from Smallburgh are planning the trip of a lifetime to West Africa - on a double decker bus.
It was the idea of landlady of The Crown Inn, Eunice Kokrasset, who moved from the Ivory Coast three years ago.
She's hoping to give something back to the community which welcomed her, and help the poverty stricken country at the same time.
