The Santa Pola municipality, located in the Baix Vinalopó region, is defined by an impressive historic, cultural, archeological, and natural patrimony.

The Puente de las flores (Flower Bridge), which opened in 2002, joins the street with the Citadel to the Paseo de la Alameda. It owes its name to the flower pots full of flowers that can be found on both sides of the bridge.
Visible from Calatrava's Puente de la Exposición is the distinctive Puente de las Flores, which is decorated with 27,000 beautiful flowers of all colours, which vary throughout the seasons. The Puente de las Flores was built in 2002 to replace a temporary pontoon constructed to meet the demands of the city’s traffic.
The Bridge of Flowers , Pont de Flors in Valencian, passes through the Turia Garden in the city of Valencia . It is part of the set of bridges designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava for the city of Valencia . Its most conspicuous feature is that it is always adorned with flowers , which are changed four or more times a year depending on the season and festivities held. During the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the city in 2006 , white and yellow flowers were planted as a tribute to the flag of the Vatican City.

At the foot of the Penya de l’Or, in the valley of Tárbena, Bolulla is located. Serrano town of complicated orography. Almond trees, locust trees, and olive trees inhabit its’ mountainsides meanwhile citrus fruits and loquat take advantage of the irrigation in the lower part of the valley.

Algorfa embraces a large majority of neighbors originating from other countries. Numerous European visitors decided to retire in this calm town where the sun shines throughout the whole year. Large housing developments alternate between fields and orchards. Witness to this growth is the Montemar Castle, originated in the XVII century.

“Door of the Vega Baja,” that is how Catral is defined. It is the first town found in the interior if we go deep into the region. With a traditionally agricultural economy, Catral has evolved until transforming into a touristic township. The exceptional climate and calm environment have made up the municipality of San Fulgencio with a great proportion of foreign residents of Spain. Located in the Vega Baja and surrounded by fields of wheat, it also holds important archeological sites.

Those first sea cucumbers elaborated by hand with the esparto that grew in the adjoining forests, were the grounds of an important shoemaking industry that is located in Elda between one of the first Alicante, shoe production cities.

Jacarilla is a small population that houses in its’ term the House-Palace of Marqués de Fontalba built between 1916 and 1922. This house-palace is the last stately construction of the region.
