The Caves of Drach are four great caves that are located in the island of Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. They are in the municipality of Manacor, near the locality of Porto Cristo. They were first mentioned in a letter dated 1338. The caves extend to a depth of 25 m and reach approximately 4 km in length. The four caves, called Black Cave, White Cave, Cave of Luis Salvador, and Cave of the French, are connected to each other. The caves have formed by water being forced through the entrance from the Mediterranean Sea, and some researchers think the formation may date back to the Miocene Epoch. Ferrocarril de Soller is an interurban railway and the name for the company which operates the electrified 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge tracks running between the towns of Sóller and Palma on the Spanish island of Mallorca (stopping at various smaller towns such as Bunyola and Son Sardina).

The historic electric train takes a route north from the capital across the plains, winding through mountains and 13 tunnels of the Serra de Tramuntana, finally ending in the large railway station of the northern town of Sóller.

Work began on the Ferrocarril de Soller in 1911 on the profits of the orange and lemon trade, which at the time was booming. For this reason, it is sometimes known as the Orange Express. The famous train is now not only a mode of transport between these two key Mallorcan settlements, but also an attraction in itself. Single tickets cost €15 (2015), returns are €21.

The medieval town of Alcúdia is the island's largest tourist hub in the north. Located on a peninsula that separates the bays of Pollença and Alcúdia, it boasts a beautiful medieval centre as well as an authentic local atmosphere.

The ancient town of Alcúdia, located about 5 minutes by car from the coast, is not to be confused with the beach resort of Port d'Alcúdia. Many of Mallorca's oldest settlements were built several miles inland to provide protection against marauding pirates, while their port and coastal areas were only developed in more recent times as tourism became a major source of income for the island.

Alcúdia is a perfectly restored walled city on the site of a Roman settlement, with remains of Roman houses and an amphitheatre. This is a gem of a place, a maze of narrow streets enclosed by medieval ramparts that have been carefully restored as part of Mallorca's new tourist image. A couple of new boutique hotels have sprung up, and modern gastronomic restaurants provide a really interesting dining experience.

Located two miles from the coast, Alcudia provides a real contrast to the more touristy beach resort of Port d'Alcúdia; with a wealth of history and charm, this town offers visitors an authentic Mallorcan experience. Traditional fiestas and fairs rub alongside classical music festivals, and it has one of the best markets on the island. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside, explorable by car or by bicycle.

Mallorca ist und war für mich immer ein besonderer Platz. Den Sommer verbrachte ich den größten Teil meiner Kindheit auf ihr, daher verbinde ich eine Menge schöne Erinnerungen mit der Insel. Mit dieser Doku, die gleichzeitig als eine Art Liebeserklärung zu verstehen ist, möchte ich mit Vorurteilen aufräumen. Alle kennen Ballermann und Party, doch immer noch ist vielen die eigentliche Schönheit Mallorcas nicht bewusst.

In zwei Wochen durch Mallorca. Mit unserem Mietwagen starteten wir einen Roadtrip quer durch die malerische Landschaft Mallorcas. Diese 14 Tage sind nun anschließend zu einem 3-Tage Trip zusammengeschnitten worden. Wir lernten Menschen, Kultur und das echte Inselleben kennen. Wir begaben uns auf die Spuren von Ludwig Salvator im Nordwesten und durften das Geheimnis der besten Paella Mallorcas erfahren. Ein unvergesslicher Trip, der nun für immer in Form einer Dokumentation festgehalten wurde.

This fantastic villa for six people is located in a quiet residential area located near Bunyola. It is equipped with air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi and satellite TV. In the outside areas, there are several terraces, a large swimming pool, a garden with barbecue and parking.

The house is spread over two floors. On the ground floor there is a large living-dining room and living room with access to the terrace, two bright double bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and a full bathroom. On the top floor there is a double bedroom with access to the terrace from where you can admire spectacular mountain views.

The property is located in the small residential area of Sa Coma, a 5-minute drive from Bunyola, which is a small village located in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. There you can find many supermarkets and shops with local products. Apart from strolling along its narrow streets and its natural areas, one of the attractions in Bunyola is the train stop of the route which goes from Palma to Sóller and runs through the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Bunyola is only a 15-minute drive from the centre of Palma and a 25-minute drive from many beaches. The surroundings of Bunyola are full of pathways for hiking or cycling. Bunyola offers a wide variety of activities and amenities that will make your holiday unforgettable.
