Pink Tours in Spanish Fort Alabama Fall 2011
The Pink Heals Tour stopped at the Spanish Fort Volunteer Fire Rescue October 16, 2011 to honor local cancer survivors.
The tour, founded in 2007 by Dave Graybill of Arizona, runs for about two months each fall and the pink fire trucks travel from city to city with the hope of raising awareness and inspiring support for women fighting cancer in the communities. Wherever these trucks stop, they are seeking out survivors, people who have been in remission. I was told that there are about 40,000 signatures on the trucks.
In 2007 Dave Graybill, a firefighter in Arizona, founded Guardians of the Ribbon in an effort to show love and support to women of the world by driving a pink fire truck across the United States. Lives were changed and hearts were touched that year in tremendous ways. Wherever these trucks stop, they are seeking out survivors, people who have been in remission. The truck was signed by female cancer survivors or in honor and memory of those that the terrorist had touched in some way.
