The town is populated by 2,127 people . while the total population of the commune containing the town and the villages surrounding it is 16,640. The total area of the commune is 333.04 square kilometres . Dukla belongs to Lesser Poland, and until the Partitions of Poland it was part of Biecz County, Kraków Voivodeship.

    Lake Solina is an artificial lake in the Bieszczady Mountains region, more precisely in Lesko County of the Subcarpathian Voivodship of Poland. Its coordinates are 49°22′27″N 22°27′8″E. The lake was created in 1968 by the construction of the Solina Dam on the San River. It has an area of 22 square kilometres and contains 472,000,000 cubic metres of water, making it Poland's largest artificial lake.
