Austria Travel Guide - Visiting Mariazell Basilica
Take a tour of Mariazell Basilica in Mariazell, Austria -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Since its beginning, the town and basilica of Mariazell have grown from a single small shrine and limited community, to immense basilica and sizable town.
To this day, they remain undeniable the most prominent pilgrimage destination in Austria.
The Mariazell Basilica, in its current form, dates back to the 17th century.
The earlier church was significantly smaller, and the one which predated that was a simple yet holy altar.
The greatest treasure of the basilica is a small, but supposedly miraculous wooden image of Mary.
One of Austria's greatest churches, the Mariazell Basilica is open to visitors and pilgrims.
Stein, Austria
Now a part of the City of Krems, Stein is located largely along one long road one block from the Danube. Most of the buildings date from the 16th to the 18th Century
Incredible Journey, Danube in Upper Austria - A timelapse Adventure

„An Incredible Journey“ – Weltbester Timelapse Film 2017

“An Incredible Journey” is the product of serveral month’s work using the unique HyperZoom™ technique, a continuous single take video where you seemingly fly from one location to the next, even if they are many kilometres apart.
Locations of the film:
Danube Loop in Schlögen:
Danube Cycle Path:
Shipping at the Danube:
St. Florian monastery:
Pöstlingberg Linz:
Lentos museum of modern art:
Ars Electronica Center:
The Danube region in Upper Austria is situated between the three rivers city Passau and Grein in the Strudengau and undoubtedly ranks among the most beautiful parts of the Danube. Absolutely spectacular is the Schlögener Schlinge (Danube meander) where the Danube totally changes its destinations twice – a true miracle of nature.
Linz, provincial capital of Upper Austria, is UNESCO City of Media Arts. Impressive buildings with striking light installations line up at the banks of the Danube - and aboard a ship you therefore can enjoy them sitting in the front row.

Flooding of New Danube in July 2013 (Vienna, Austria, Europe) Before and After Video
When the many parts of Europe where flooded in July 2013 I took a video of the effect of all that in Vienna. The New Danube is part of a sophisticated flooding protection that on the other hand created 40 km worth of beaches right in the city. When not flooded it's a very popular recreational area. I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (
