Hämeenkyrö is a municipality of Finland. It is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 10,527 and covers an area of 505.10 square kilometres of which 41.34 km2 is water. The population density is 22.7 inhabitants per square kilometre . The municipality is unilingually Finnish. Frans Eemil Sillanpää, a Nobel Laureate in Literature, was born in Hämeenkyrö.
