MASS AT NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL (PARIS, FRANCE) | Eileen Aldis
One Sunday morning in Paris, we took the metro from Montmartre to Notre Dame Cathedral to attend a Gregorian Mass. I had been once before, many years ago, and it was something I wanted to experience again with Marc. Of course this Catholic cathedral on Île de la Cité is always beautiful to visit but, to me, it is best to visit during a mass because of the music. We were able to sit in on the service and enjoy the choir, soloists, and organ playing. Construction on Notre Dame began in 1163 and it is full of history. I especially enjoyed the service knowing that there have been people attending mass here for hundreds of years. Even though we couldn’t understand what was being said, it was enough simply to be in the space, feel the energy, and listen to the music. It was a meaningful experience for me and I’m glad we were able to go. It’s certainly an incredible feeling to walk out of Notre Dame and find yourself in the middle of Paris on a Sunday morning, right on the Seine, with the whole day before you. Wow. In today’s Mexico to Phoenix vlog, we’re doing something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time—finding MEXICO in Arizona! We’re going around Phoenix, Arizona, attempting to find Mexico enclaves, grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and things that just generally remind us about our newly-found home in Mexico.
Finding pieces of Mexico in our old stomping ground was a bit emotional, exciting, and a little bit shocking. What was surprising about it? Well, for example, one grocery store that we used to think was the epitome of Mexico really only has minor Mexican attributes.
We ran out of time to do/see everything we wanted to in Phoenix, unfortunately. But there's always next time! We hope to visit some more authentic Mexican restaurants in Phoenix to see how they compare. Plus, we'd like to chat with some more people in town to find out where they came from and what brought them to Phoenix.
Toward the end of this video, as we wrap up our Phoenix trip, we reflect on the things we miss about living in the US. As much as we love our new Mexican home, there are still quite a few things we miss about the US and Phoenix in particular.

Comiendo Canelones Caseros + Historias de la Vida en Argentina
Para este video nos pusimos a cocinar unos ricos canelones caseros de dos maneras: canelones con salsa roja rellenos con espinaca, mozarella y chorizo, y canelones con salsa blanca rellenos con espinaca, ricotta y jamón. Mientras cocinabamos, compartimos una picada de focacha, jamón y queso, y probamos dos vinos nuevos: uno de Argentina y otro de Cerdeña/Sardegna en Italia. Y por último, para el postre, preparamos panqueques con dulce de leche, crema de chocolate y almendra, crema chantilly, fresas, y un ingredient secreto! ¡Hola todos! Gracias por mirar este video que es parte de nuestra serie Cocinando con Daniel, donde mi padre comparte historias y cocina comidas típicas de Argentina y otras partes de Latinoamérica.
Esta serie comenzó con la idea de filmar los asados argentinos que hacíamos aquí en casa durantes los fines de semana. Ricos asado con los clásicos como chorizo, bife de lomo, bife de chorizo, vacio, asado de tira, y entraña...en fin, un poco de todo! Y para acompañar siempre una picadita y unos buenos vinos argentinos.

25 Things to do in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Travel Guide and Top Attractions Transcript:
First up, we started with the city’s most iconic sight: Christ Redeemer. We boarded the train as soon as the station opened and made our way to the top of Corcovado Mountain. Sometimes the statue can be shielded by fog, but we lucked out with beautiful blue skies and panoramic views of the city as far as the eye could see.
For a bit of colour, we headed over to the Selaron Steps, which is a tiled staircase created by Chilean artist, Jorge Selarón. Initially Selaron would scavenge construction sites looking for tiles, but in later years as his work gained notoriety, travellers began donating tiles.
Since we chose to stay in the neighbourhood of Ipanema, we ended up spending quite a bit of time at Ipanema Beach. We noticed that this beach was really popular for beach football, volleyball, and surfing. And of course, what makes this beach so iconic are its two mountains, known as Dois Irmãos. If you come here on a clear day, you can catch a killer sunset.
No visit to Rio de Janeiro would be complete without heading up Sugarloaf Mountain, so when the skies finally cleared that’s exactly what we did. We paid for our tickets and boarded the cable car for a somewhat unnerving ride up. If you’re scared of heights, this probably isn’t the attraction for you, however, if you manage to make it to the top you get some really cool panoramic views of Rio.
Copacabana Beach is the most famed beach in all of Rio de Janeiro and if you were to visit on a weekend during the summer months you’d find that the place is packed beyond belief. We happened to be here in winter so things were a lot more relaxed, but that didn’t stop visitors from braving the waters.
We did a favela tour to Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira. On our tour we saw lots of street art, learned about life inside a favela.

La ville baroque - Aci Castello et son château Normand en pierre de lave - Acitrezza, les rochers des Cyclopes et le géant Polyphème.
Visite Catane
Est la deuxième plus grande ville en Sicile, elle se trouve au pied de l’Etna et offre de nombreuses vues sur le volcan actif. Catane a une forte personnalité vu son passé mouvementé et douloureux, il s’agit d’une ville antique qui a quasiment été reconstruite suite au terrible tremblement de terre de 1693. Catane est une ville de style baroque tardif de la Val di Noto (sud-est de la Sicile), qui offre un témoignage exceptionnel du génie exubérant de l’art et de l’architecture baroque tardive, l’épanouissement final de l’art baroque en Europe à son apogée. Elle est inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco.
Que manger à Catane: Goûtez les arancini (boules de riz farcie), les mini-pizzas, cannoli de ricotta, glaces, pâtisseries à l’amande, granita (vous ne pouvez pas quitter Catane sans avoir goûté la granita, un sorbet à base de glace pilée servi dans un verre) et les pâtes à la Norma (spécialité avec aubergine, sauce tomate et ricotta, qui doit son nom à la Norma, opéra de Vincenzo Bellini).
Que voir à Catane: la via Etnea (recouverte de pavés de lave), les jardins publiques Villa Bellini, le Duomo (cathédrale édifiée au XIe siècle en l’honneur de la patronne de la ville Santa Agata), la place du Duomo et le Liotru(l’éléphant en pierre de lave), le château Ursino, la via Crociferi (avec les édifices et les églises baroques), le théâtre romain (qui pouvait accueillir 7000 personnes) et le théâtre lyrique Massimo Bellini. Faites une promenade à la Pescheria au matin, le marché de la piazza del Curro près de Piazza del Duomo. Le soir dans le centre-ville vous trouverez de nombreux endroits où manger et socialiser.
Aci-Castello
Se trouve à 9 km de Catane, son territoire borde l'archipel des îles Cyclopes, aire marine protégée. Cette ville prend le nom du château Normand qui en domine la côte, construit sur un rocher de lave de formation géologique antérieure à celle du volcan Etna. Le rocher se caractérise par la présence de coussins de lave qui témoignent de l’activité éruptive marine.
Acitrezza
Se trouve à 11 km de Catane, son histoire est liée à l'activité de la pêche depuis des siècles, encore pratiquée aujourd'hui, selon des méthodes traditionnelles. Le site est caractérisé par des récifs appelés aussi « rochers des Cyclopes », pittoresques pinacles de basalte qui selon la légende homérique auraient été lancés par le géant Polyphème vers Ulysse. Proche de la côte, se trouve l'île Lachea qui accueille actuellement le siège d'une station de biologie de l'université de Catane. Il s’agit de l’endroit où est nait le volcan Etna.
Nos excursions sont effectués par un guide touristique officiel, seul professionnel autorisé par la loi italienne à conduire des groupes en Sicile.

Visite de Catane
Ancien âge: theatre romain, l'Odeon, l’amphithéâtre romain, le thermes.
Âge médiéval: la chapelle Bonaiuto, la cathédrale de Sant’Agata, l'église de Sant'Agata al Carcere, le château d'Ursino
La ville de la Renaissance: le monastère bénédictin, les murs de Charles V, la fontaine des «sept canaux»
La ville baroque: Via Etnea, Via Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Plebiscito et Via Giuseppe Garibaldi.

La baie de l'archipel des Saintes est considérée comme l'une des plus belles baies au monde.
Nous avons pris le traversier à partir de Trois-Rivières (Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe) pour nous rendre sur l'île de Terre-de-Haut. La traversée fut très rocambolesque (voir vidéo
Cette île, de moins de 2000 habitants, devient très animée lorsque les traversiers déversent leur lot de touristes venus y passer majoritairement une seule journée.
Pour visiter l'île, il est possible de louer une voiturette électrique, un scooter, un vélo et même un minibus avec chauffeur qui peut vous servir de guide.
Si vous préférez visiter l'île à pied, c'est également possible. Cependant, il faudrait prévoir plus d'une journée pour parcourir l'île en son entier.
L'Office de Tourisme se situe en face du débarcadère. Ils pourront vous conseiller sur les activités à faire sur cette île.
On retrouve une multitude de restaurants, bars et boutiques situés également à proximité du débarcadère.
Comme nous ne passions qu'une seule journée sur cette île, nous avons donc loué une voiturette électrique afin de nous déplacer rapidement et ainsi avoir la possibilité d'en découvrir les principaux attraits.
Nous nous sommes d'abord rendus aux abords du fort Napoléon, érigé en hauteur, afin d'avoir une superbe vue panoramique de la région.
Et puis, nous avons parcouru les routes de l'île pour ainsi découvrir de magnifiques panoramas.
Le centre-ville est composé de maisons très colorées, enjolivant ainsi grandement le paysage.
On y retrouve de jolies plages, dont celles de Pompierre et du Pain de Sucre. Cette dernière est d'ailleurs un site idéal pour la plongée en apnée (PMT).
De nombreux belvédères permettent d'obtenir de superbes vues panoramiques sur différents secteurs de la baie.
