Huffington Post:
Now, where to travel in Nicaragua? I have often been asked, where my favourite place to travel in Central America is and after having given it a lot of thought, I concluded it is Nicaragua. Now of course, currently in 2018, Nicaragua is going through some tough times, but tourism will return to Nicaragua and the doors will open to travel Nicaragua once again and when you do plan to visit Nicaragua, you can use this top 5 places to travel in Nicaragua video to outline my personal favourite places, cities and towns in Nicaragua.
Here we go through my favourite 5 places you should visit when travelling Nicaragua starting at #5 The Corn Islands. Off the coast of Nicaragua, Big and Little Corn Island are two paradisical chunks of sand completely surrounded by gorgeous water. Sit back and relax!
My 4th favourite place in Nicaragua is the fun beach party town of San Juan del Sur. A lot of people love San Juan as it is called in Nicaragua, and as much as I did enjoy it, I was not in Nicaragua to just party so I found San Juan del Sur fun, but there were other better places.
San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua:
The biggest surprise whilst travelling through Nicaragua was my third favourite place, Leon in the north of Nicaragua. A place I thought only existed on the tourist trail for Volcano Boarding, Leon is actually a very cool, and authentic city!
Volcano Boarding in Leon, Nicaragua:
2nd best place in Nicaragua is Granada and Laguna de Apoyo. The town of Granada is gorgeous and colonial and right beside it is the volcano crater lake of Laguna de Apoyo, a pairing that is an absolute must visit when in Nicaragua.
Laguna de Apoyo, Nicaragua:
The BEST Places in NIcaragua whilst travelling through, I found was ... ISLA OMETEPE. The island of Ometepe is a volcano island located in the enormous lake which covers a large area of Nicaragua and it is an unusual lost world that I simply loved. The video below shows us scootering around the island, one of the best days of my life.

Granada Nicaragua Travel Guide - Top Things To See & Do | 90+ Countries With 3 Kids
Welcome to Granada, Nicaragua where you’ll feel like you’re stepping into a tropical Spain.
The surrounding natural beauty has also inspired artists, poets, and writers well before the Spanish founded it in 1524. Combine these charming features with the relaxed air of the Nicaraguan people – one of the happiest in the world – and you have quite possibly the most laid-back and accessible city in Central America, fully imbued with color and culture.
Discover Lake Nicaragua and it's beautiful 365 Islands as well as the must see Laguna de Apoyo.
If you're wondering if Nicaragua is safe to visit, well, come along on the tour and we'll show you.
Enjoy the video and let us know where you’re watching from!

Arriving in Granada Nicaragua | What to do in Nicaragua Granada
Volcano boarding in Nicaragua lived up to the hype, and then some! After a few days in Leon, Nicaragua, I was heading off to the colonial town of Granada. NIcaragua is definitely the most unique country that I have been to in Central America. You can feel the touch of the Spanish here, more than any other country. The big columns, the colourful buildings, the clay tile roofs. Nicaragua, has to be the most scenic, and Granada, the cherry on top.
I took the bus from Leon Nicaragua, through the capital of Managua, and as the outskirts of Managua start to thin, the outskirts of Granada start to thicken. Managua sprawling so much, there was very little gap between the two cities and on the crowded, hot, bumpy bus, I was itching to get on some solid ground to walk. The first beautiful church in the town of Granada, was as much as I could take. I jumped out threw my big bag on my back and walked around, instantly impressed.
See more videos from Nicaragua, including upcoming video from Laguna de Apoyo, just outside of Granada, as well as Coyotepe Prison, also near Granada Nicaragua, and then onto Isla Ometepe and San Juan del Sur!

Nicaragua best surfing beaches Top 10
Nicaragua best surfing beachesis, the video that we bring you today.
NICA’S WAVES rank among the best in Central America. Trade winds blow unopposed over Lake Managua and out into the Pacific, blessing the southwestern coastline with consistently offshore winds. Add to that the fact that the country receives the brunt of storm waves propagating up from the South Pacific year round, and has a coastal topography littered with points, reefs, and creek-fed beaches.
What this means is, on any given day, somewhere in Nicaragua, is going off.
The wind is usually perfect at Maderas, as it’s situated adjacent to Lake Managua. It’s a beach offering hollow lefts and rights that handles long period swells quite well. A 10-minute drive on rough roads from San Juan del Sur, it’s the go-to place for both tourists and locals (shuttles from $5).
There are quite a few surf schools, so if you’re just learning start here. That said, Maderas holds plenty of size and is awesome for experienced surfers too. Stay at one of the budget options on the beach and wake up early to beat the crowds.
Popoyo is really two spots: the inner reef and outer reef. The inside is a left breaking over coral heads and urchins and other things you don’t want anything to do with. Try not to break your fins. Watch the nicaragüenses make the tricky paddle out through the reef before you attempt it. It gets heavy and tends to max out. The inner reef is one of the classic surf spots in Nica and the local expat contingent and dedicated campers have this place on lockdown. Bring patience and timing.
The outer reef is for pros (or crazy people). When the swell pushes past six or seven feet, head here. Bring your gun, or the ski to tow in. Expect machine-like barrels throwing as wide as they are tall and breaking at about three to five times overhead, over a scary-shallow reef. I’m nominating it as the heaviest wave in Nica.

Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries in the world though it's comparably tiny. Beside the Galapagos Islands (which is the #1 tourist destination in Ecuador) the country has a lot more to offer, therefore I focussed on La Sierra in this video which is a paradise for landscape lovers and outdoor adventurers.
Another reason to visit the Andean region is that you have the chance to dive into the local culture and get a real feeling of Ecuador. The places to see in Ecuador I focussed on in this short video are the result of my own travels along the center from north to south and are easily doable in 2 weeks time.
Things to do in Ecuador covered in this video:
01) 00:36 - Otavalo market in Otavalo
02) 01:00 - Hike the Cuicocha lake
03) 01:25 - Middle of the World, Mitad del Mundo & Quitsato in Cayambe
04) 01:48 - Quito, capital & UNESCO World Heritage
05) 02:08 - Termas de Papallacta (hot springs)
06) 02:24 - Cayambe Coca National Park
07) 02:45 - Quilotoa & Shalala viewpoint
08) 03:13 - Tren Crucero & Nariz del Diablo (Devil's nose)
09) 03:47 - Inka ruins in Ingapirca
10) 04:04 - Cuenca & it's beautiful old town
