Passing by Argentina - Patagonia
In the next two years I'm gonna film and edit every place I travel around the WORLD.
I'm excited to share with you the second video: Passing by Argentina - Patagonia.
Patagonia is very similar at both sides: Argentina and Chile.
What is the orange and blue flag hanging around everywhere? Welcome to what most locals refer to as the Independent Republic of Magallanes. The flag is the Maggallanes flag, since september 1996 - locals are really proud of it. Magallanes is one out of two regions in Chile that has its own flag.
By many locals Patagonia is referred to as “the end of the world” - if this is how the “end of the world” looks and feels, we are lucky to be part of this world.
“Tranquilo - after two months of zig-zaging Patagonia between Chile and Argentina I deeply understand this word that comes up in every conversation.
Patagonia is so varied, diverse and colorful. You hike through amazing landscape – beautiful and wild, running waters and unbelievable sun-rises and sun sets, you can cross “4-seasons” in one day trip, you wait for food as long as it takes, you lose the sense of time during the 17 hour daylight on summer. You just feel - Tranquilo.
The places shown here:
El Calafate - This modern city will is the base for visiting Los Glaciares National Park, where the largest horizontal glacier in the world is located: the Perito Moreno Glacier.
El Chaltén - with means smoking mountains. Argentina's Trekking Capital, famous for Hiking and climbing Mount Fitz Roi and other trails around.
El Bolson -In the 70s hippies from Buenos Aires migrated to the El Bolson and their spirit is still here. “Tranquilo” that best describe the town. This is where you want to end your hikes.
Bariloche - considered one of the best places in Argentina for skiing, hiking and mountain climbing.
*Don’t miss out on the amazing chocolate they make in the city.

Lago Buenos Aires
Lago Buenos Aires
(Tranquilo – Perito Moreno)
19 October 2017
After visiting the Marble Caves in the morning, we drove to Perito Moreno. Not to the Perito Moreno Glacier, Lake Perito Moreno or the Perito Moreno National Park, but to the village called Perito Moreno.
The road along the Lago General Carrera (General Carrera Lake) in Chile was unpaved and a feast to drive. In the village Puerto Guadal we have eaten delicious empanadas. This Panaderia La Ruta has won the award for best empanada of Chile in 2016. I can tell you: in 2017 the empanadas were still very good!
Between Chile Chico and Los Antiguos we have crossed the border. In Argentina the Genenral Carrera Lake is called Lago Buenos Aires (Lake Buenos Aires). The road along Lago Buenos Aires is paved and straight. Despite of the strong wind we arrived soon in Perito Moreno.
