Buenos Aires - Argentina Travel Guide
Restaurants in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Argentines seem to live for their food. The dining experience is high on their list of daily activities, although most eat their main meal very late, usually at 2200 or later. Traditional and modern parrilla (grill) restaurants serve up a cornucopia of meats to a discerning clientele, while pizza and pasta restaurants are found on every street corner in Buenos Aires. But there has been a food revolution in recent years and many international influences have crept in, including modern Mediterranean and Asian food -- Peruvian-Chinese fusion restaurants are particularly popular. Argentina also has some of the world's best wines, which shouldn't be missed.
The Buenos Aires restaurants below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Expensive (over US$150)
Moderate (US$60 to US$150)
Cheap (up to US$60)
These Buenos Aires restaurant prices are for a three-course meal, without wine. A service charge is not usually automatically added to the bill and a tip is appreciated.
La Cabaña
Price: Expensive
For high-end meat consumption amid the style of a traditional estancia (ranch), head to La Cabaña in elegant Recoleta. The restaurant is spread over several floors and a roof garden, and features luxurious wooden furnishings, rustic décor and even stuffed cows. The new menu combines modern and traditional Argentine dining, with a rather splendid parrilla (grill) section offering some truly fine cuts of meat.
Address: Alicia Moreau de Justo 380, Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina
El Bistro
Price: Expensive
It would be worth visiting the new Faena Hotel + Universe just to experience the décor of this Philippe Starck-designed restaurant. The bizarre interior is a dream world of pure red and white furnishings interspersed with red-eyed unicorn heads mounted on the wall. The surreal surroundings don't detract from the sophisticated international cuisine served up by attentive staff. A fascinating tasting menu is particularly impressive, with dishes including Patagonian toadfish, a carpaccio of portobello mushrooms, and a desert of white chocolate egg with tangerine yolk. If dining on a Saturday evening, head to the Library bar for a post-dinner cocktail, and be dazzled by their supremely talented live band.
Address: Martha Salotti 445, Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, Argentina
La Bourgogne
Price: Expensive
The traditional, plush interior of the Alvear Palace Hotel flows flawlessly into the exquisite La Bourgogne. This is one of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires, where the city's elite and VIP visitors from abroad come to dine. Chef Jean Paul Bondoux delights the most demanding gourmands with a refined blend of French and international cuisine, or diners can opt for meats cooked on the rotisserie grill. The head sommelier at La Bourgogne also runs wine-tasting classes for small or large groups, in an atmospheric cellar below the restaurant. Sip Malbec from Mendoza or Pinot Noir from Patagonia, and enjoy the rich honey flavours of a Torrontés from the Salta region.
Address: Avenida Alvear 1891, Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Artemisia
Price: Moderate
Even carnivorous Buenos Aires is not without its vegetarian restaurants. In bohemian Palermo Viejo, this wonderful restaurant serves simple, homemade natural cuisine. Pasta, rice and soup dishes are brimming with vegetable content, and all can be accompanied by delicious homemade bread.
Address: Cabrera 3877, Palermo Viejo, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Thymus
Price: Moderate
The inventive menu is international in flavour at this popular eatery located in the former home of famous Argentine sculptor Martín Vergara. The creative team has selected a unique set of dishes to wow a smart and fashionable clientele. Duck, cashew and cheese crème brûlée is just one of the unusual combinations on offer.
Address: Lerma 525, Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Desnivel
Price: Moderate
This delightful San Telmo parrilla (grill restaurant) is a traditional and bustling no-frills eatery that serves up as many parts of the cow as you can imagine, all to a mouth-wateringly high standard. Be enticed in by the meat sizzling atop their impressive grills sitting right by the entrance -- with another working just as hard out the back -- and wash down your chosen cuts with a bottle of San Telmo red. If feeling particularly indulgent, the dulce de leche flan is delicious.
Address: Defensa 855, San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Our visit Poznań travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting castles, churches and museums. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Poznań tourism brochure, Poznań itinerary or Poznań, Poland city tour.
10 Things to do in Poznań, Poland Travel Guide script:
Eager to explore Poznan, our first stop of the day was the Old Market Square, which is a sight to behold. As soon as we turned the street from our apartment, we were greeted with the Old Town Hall.
The top attraction here is a row of buildings known as the Merchant Houses. They stand shoulder to shoulder and are painted in different patterns, adding a bright splash of colour to the town.
The Royal Castle dates back to 1249, though if you think it looks rather new, that’s because it was mostly destroyed during WW2 and it had to be rebuilt. After paying for our tickets, we made a beeline straight for the tower, to enjoy some views of Poznan.
After visiting the castle, we did some wandering around the Old Town and ended up at the Former Jesuit College. This is where young people were educated in theology and philosophy.
Today the college houses the City Council, so we couldn’t really tour the place, but they do have a nice courtyard and a cafe for visitors.
Another thing to do in Poznan is visit Fara Poznanska, a beautiful Baroque church located right next to the Former Jesuit College. We arrived just as they were setting up for the weekly concert, so we sat down for a bit of music.
From there, we walked west of the Old Town, where things have more of a modern look. We saw the Fontana Wolnosh-chi Wolności, had a quick peek inside the Imperial Castle, and we also discovered that Polish people have a big love for ice cream.
We later googled Kolorowa and discovered that it’s the best ice cream shop in Poznan, so maybe we should’ve stood in line!
After visiting Cathedral Island, we went past Śródka, which is a really cool neighbourhood with lots of street art. We then had a little break by Lake Malta, which looked to be a popular weekend spot.
Another cool thing to do in Poznan is to visit KontenerArt, which is part urban beach, outdoor bar, art space, children’s playground, food cart central, and herb and spice garden. This was an unexpected find and it was really nice to see people of all ages enjoying this space.
On a rainy afternoon, we paid a quick visit to Poznan’s Archaeological Museum. Admittedly, it’s mostly geared towards children, but it was a fun way to stay dry.
And that’s a wrap for our quick travel guide to Poznan! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around town on your visit. If there are any other things to do in Poznan that you think should be on this list, feel free to share those with fellow travellers. Happy travels and until next time!

A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina
One of the most colorful and touristy areas you can visit in Buenos Aires is Caminito located in the heart of La Bocca Barrio (nieghborhood). Here you can enjoy overpriced meals, tango shows, souvenir shopping and people watching as you marvel at all of the colorful architecture. Nearby is where the Boca Juniors football club plays its home games. Overall, we feel it's worth a visit but is not an area you'd need to linger or return again.
A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina Travel Video Transcript:
So new vlog from Buenos Aires. Today we are visiting a neighborhood called La Boca. And it is know for its very colorful buildings and it is actually very touristy which means the prices here are quite high. Yeah, we just got absolutely fleeced for lunch. It was one of the most expensive meals we've had in South America and it was to be honest disgusting. But you know what we got charged one price for pasta and then like an extra five dollars for the tomato sauce. And then they charged us, with my parents, and they charged us like what like almost fifteen dollars for service. It was outrageous. Anyways, we're going to make the most of this afternoon and forget about that awful meal. Let's forget the meal and go sightseeing.
This tree has a knit sweater.
So to tell you a little bit about the neighborhood. It was settled by Italian immigrants and this area is in the southeast end of the city and it is right at the mouth of the river and that is how Boca gets its name. Boca, means mouth. Um, and yeah, there are a few streets that are very touristy; however, if you wander away from Caminito and that general area it is a little rough around the edges so we're going to try and show you both sides. Touristy Boca and regular old Boca.
So right now this is touristy Boca. Lots of restaurants. You can watch Tango shows on the street. Yes, you can pose and pretend to be a tango dancer. Yes, you can pose with football players who looks like famous football players. Yeah, there is a guy who looks like Maradona. And he even has a beer belly just like him. Impressive! And you can also buy souvenirs. There is a flea market around here and also just lots of souvenir shops. You can lighten the load of your wallet. A great place to do that.
So Sam, you don't really follow football but can you tell us who you are standing next to? I don't follow football but I know enough that is Maradona. The only and only. Maradona!
Little anecdote for us. Yes, one of the funniest comments we've had on our YouTube channel recently was during our Cholitas wrestling match. Someone said the referee looked just like Maradona. And now that I'm seeing Maradona statues all over the place and impersonators. That was a very very clever observation. He totally did. He totally looked like Maradona.
And now for a spin around less touristy Boca. Yeah. No crowds here. It's a lot quieter. A lot quieter, we're just walking along the rail-tracks. We're actually heading towards the stadium. Yes, because football is a big deal here. This is where Boca Juniors comes from. And, oh, they love their futbol. Yes, they do.
And we came all the way to Boca to meet Messi. Number 10.
So for the hardcore football fans another cool thing you can do in Buenos Aires is visit the Boca Juniors stadium. It is called La Bombonera and that means the chocolate box. I don't really think it looks like a chocolate box. I mean it is this giant yellow stadium. A colorful chocolate box. But yeah, it is right over there. So let's go check it out.
Final thoughts. Boca! Boca! Okay. I've been to Boca once before and I think one visit is probably enough. I mean, once you've seen the touristy bits there isn't a whole lot to do in my opinion. Um, so yeah nice for like half day visit I'd say. Maybe have a meal but not in the main road or you'll get ripped off. A one time only deal. One time only. I agree with you. I totally agree with you. Yeah. Yep. Okay. Good!

The Best Pizza in Buenos Aires!
On a quest for the best pizza in Argentina we headed over to El Cuartito to order five slices of different pizza pie. We ended up getting fugazetta, Neapolitana, ham and pepper, anchovy and vegetarian slices. Come find out to see if this is really the best pizza in Buenos Aires!
The Best Pizza in Buenos Aires! Travel Video Transcript:
So we are on a bit of a pizza mission this afternoon. Sam had a very disappointing meal in Boca and he's been sulking ever since. So pizza will cheer him up.
We're back in our neighborhood. We're staying in Recoleta and there is a pizza place that was recommended to us by our Airbnb host. So we are here and it is called El Cuartito and we've ordered five different slices of pizza. This should be good. Are you happy, Sam? Yes.
So you know this place is going to be good because it has been approved by an Italian. Correct. Yes, our Airbnb host, one of her friends from Naples, Italy came here. And that place is known for pizza. And she said this was the best pizza she has ever had, so I have super high expectations. And I always love getting recommendations from locals. We often find that the best restaurants, the best food we ever had is from those kinds of recommendations. So this is exciting. Oh, yes. Pizza time. Very exciting. Pizza time.
And those are five sexy delectable slices of pizza. Will this make up for today's lunch? I think it might. Woo hoo.
So Sam is going for the Fugazetta. This thing looks like a thing of beauty. It's got mozzarella, double cream cheese and onions. Oh, I've never had pizza with cream cheese before. So let's dig right in there. That looks so cheesy. That is like the cheesiest pizza I've ever seen. I know, I know.
Look at the look on his face. Look at those eyes. That is insanely good. Insanely good. That is just like cheese explosion. That is for any kind of cheese lover this is like the best moment of his or her life.
So I'm pretty excited for this one. Look at that thick tomato sauce. Thick thick tomato sauce and anchovies on top. This is going to be good my friends. The anchovies fell off. Ah! There we go. Any anchovy lovers out there? Mmmmm.
Anchovies are always super salty so it has a real salty kick to it. And of course a bit of a fishy flavor. Haha.
That's good. I know anchovies are not a favorite with everyone but I do enjoy it on pizza.
So time for slice number three. Yes, and this one over here is a vegetarian pizza. Yeah. And apparently it comes with an alfredo sauce so I'm really looking forward to that. Yeah, this is a bit unusual. No tomato sauce on this one. Just a cream based sauce. It looks like there is tonnes of spinach. Maybe a bit of onions oozing out. Popeye. Mmmm. That is really unique. It is very different to not have a tomato sauce or even more of a cheesy sauce. This tastes a bit more like a lasagna. It does. Exactly. It tastes like a bit of a creamy lasagna. Oh, let's get a closer look at that. Cheesy.
Okay, slice number four. This one is called Napolitana and it has tomato sauce but it also has slices of fresh tomato on top. And two different kinds of cheese. Provincial and Parmesan. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
Okay and the last one. And this lonely little last pizza slice. Actually it is anything but little. This one has ham, pepper and loads of mozzarella. So let's give that a try. Dig right in. Oh yeah, big slice. He eats like a caveman. This one is one of my favorites. Like this is a winning combo. Oh yeah. That mozzarella is awesome. It is just so much piled on. So fresh, so tasty. And the ham is really tasty as well too. And I like the look of the pepper. Like in North America they usually give you those thin slivers. But here it is like a big slice. Just slap it right on. Slap it right on. Oh yeah.
Final thoughts. Final thoughts. The pizza was amazing. The place is backed and it is at a great price. You can get each slice for $2 Canadian dollars which is a really good deal and those are like really thick slices with lots of cheese. So I would highly recommend it. Come, check it out. El Cuartito. This may be the best pizza in Buenos Aires. I think so.

Visiting La Cumbrecita Hamlet in Córdoba, Argentina
Certain places you visit have far more sentimental value than others. Having the opportunity to finally visit where Audrey grew up in Argentina was a thrill. The tiny Hamlet of La La Cumbrecita, located nearby Villa General Belgrano and a couple hours away from Córdoba city, is an adventure playground for those interested in ziplining, rafting, hiking or other outdoor adventures. It's also a great place to relax and eat German cuisine while sipping on craft beer. Audrey was thrilled to revisit having been gone for nearly a decade. Come join us as we show you around.

Visiting La Cumbrecita Hamlet in Córdoba, Argentina Travel Video Transcript:
So today we are taking a little bit of a day trip. We've left behind Villa General Belgrano and we're going to visit a little village called La Cumbrecita up in the Sierras. And this is where I went to school as a child. So it is going to be really fun walking around and showing you around.
Well, welcome to my primary school. This is where I went to grade 1 through grade 6. Except, at the time the building was a lot smaller. We did not have this whole wing. It was just this. Just that. And in the morning it was primary school and in the afternoon it was high school. So it was a very short school day - 4 hours. And I had recess twice during those four hours. So, not bad for a kid. Tip top education there, yeah.
I think you have a little bit of work to be done. Not too much. Gandolf!
So this is a popular spot on a hot summer day. Yes, apparently it is called La Oja. And everyone has seemed to gather here. There is a little mini waterfall. Yeah, you can go for a swim. Are you going to jump in, Sam? I don't think so. No swimming trunks today? No. That's too bad.
So next up we're heading to the waterfalls and we can hear that off in the distance. But I want to show you these really cool roots first. It is like this weird web running straight across here. Follow me. Don't trip. Don't fall! How cool is that. That's very cool. Very cool. And little spooky.
So we had a minor miscalculation. When you look at this sign how far do you think the waterfall is? 25 feet? 25 meters? That's what we thought. But once we started walking we realized, wow, this is like quite far. 25 feet we're not there. 25 meters we can't even hear it. It's 25 minutes. Minutes. So now we know better for the next attraction.
Okay, so Sam now you have visited both Villa General Belgrano, the bigger town, and La Cumbrecita. So what are your impressions so far? Well, I like them both. This particular town I like even more though. It kind of reminds me of the town where I grew up in. It's a bit smaller. And what I really like about this place that is so cool is that it is a pedestrian only town. That's awesome. You drive in your vehicle or in your bus, you get off and then the rest of it is just walking. You don't have to worry about vehicles or anything like that. You're also higher up in the mountains and you experience nature a little bit more here. So that is what I really love about this place. And it is so peaceful. It is. Can you hear the birds chirping? I can hear the birds chirping off in the distance. Chirp, chirp, chirp.

After the stunning ride through the Andes mountains from Chile to Argentina we make it to Mendoza in Argentina just on the other side of the mountain. The sun is out, beautiful day, and somehow I'm still walking in the shade everywhere in this Argentine city! So many tall trees casting shade over all the streets and on both sides. This is the greenest city I have ever seen. Mendoza is famous for its wine, specifically Malbec, but nobody told me about all the trees! Real pleasure to walk around this city and do a sightseeing tour. In the shade, and do I need it after a long night of Argentinian asado and wine catching up with friends who just came back from Tierra del Fuego. Walk around the huge General San Martin park. Travel to Cerro de la Gloria on the motorcycle at the end of the day. Once at the top the police officer told us we had one minute for pictures and then had to leave since the place was closed. So the Mendoza region is the main wine region in South America but since I have limited time my focus was on nature in the city.

Haciendo Empanadas + Picada Argentina + Fernet con Coca! | Platos Típicos Argentinos
¡Bienvenidos a otro video!
