Buenos Aires is the capital and most populous city of Argentina. The city is located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, on the South American continent's southeastern coast. Buenos aires can be translated as fair winds or good airs, but the first one was the meaning intended by the founders in the 16th century, by the use of the original name Real de Nuestra Señora Santa María del Buen Ayre. The Greater Buenos Aires conurbation, which also includes several Buenos Aires Province districts, constitutes the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in the Americas, with a population of around 17 million.
Buenos Aires Beaches
Does Buenos Aires have Beaches? Well there are beaches but not in the area of central Buenos Aires. You will need to travel further out of the city.
For a coastal beach you need to head to the Atlantic Coast.
The nearest beaches are a approximately a 4-5 hour journey from Buenos Aires. These are the northern beaches of the Province of Buenos Aires. They are made up of coastal towns and resorts that extend from San Clemente down to Villa Gesell and beyond. A very chilled out place to visit with nice beaches is Mar Azul. To get to the coast you can take a coach from the Retiro Bus Terminal in Buenos Aires. It is recommended to treat yourself to at least a few days on the coast of Argentina.
For a freshwater beach and closer to Buenos Aires you can head to the beautiful Tigre Delta. This is an hour north of Buenos Aires.
Here you can catch small ferries, known as a Lanchas out to this labyrinth of waterway. Within the Delta are many guest-houses, cabins, bungalows and campsites, as well as restaurants. Many have riverside beaches and swimming pools where you can cool off. As the Delta is huge with a lot to offer, it is best to pop into the tourist office next to the McDonald's at the Port of Tigre first. They will put you on track of what places will best suit you.

Shanty town (Villa Miseria) Buenos Aires, Argentina
Like most cities, around the world, Argentina has its poor section too. In this case it's a settlement of small houses and shanty towns that are built out of whatever materials can be scavenged. There's usually no running water, sanitation, or electricity (unless residents sometime tap into the grid with dangerous electrical wiring, etc.).
From this video you can probably tell that many of the illegal dwellings are actually being built mult-story on top of one and other.

Mar del Plata Adventure Trips
Mar del Plata Adventure Trips - Four hundred kilometers from Buenos Aires lies Mar del Plata ('Mardel'), the premier Argentine beach destination for porteños. If you end up here on a summer weekend, you'll be guaranteed to say 'Wow, this beach is crowded.' There might a couple of places where you could get in a few swimming strokes without taking somebody's eye out, but mostly it's shoulder-to-shoulder, sun-frazzled bodies. After spending a few days on its comically packed sands, watching street performers on the beachside Plaza Colón or exploring the wonders of the port, however, you might get the sense of adoration that the country feels for this place.
Mar del Plata Adventure Trips, and especially outside of summer, the crowds disperse, hotel prices drop and the place takes on a more relaxed feel. And if summer crowds don't appeal, visit in spring or autumn, when prices are lower and the area's natural attractions are easier to enjoy. After all, Mardel is a large city and has attractions other than its beach.
