Best Places to Visit in Trinidad and Tobago
Best Places to Visit in Trinidad and Tobago
At just 42km long and around 14km at its widest point, Tobago is a breeze to roam around. Anyone spending more than a few days on the island will quickly familiarise themselves with the roads, bays and bends, and it will all start to feel like home. You’ll never have to drive more than an hour and a half – which also means that hotel and even airport pickups may be included as part of tours. Be aware though that the easily queasy may want to limit the number of times they zigzag across the island; the roads rollercoaster along steep hillsides and motion sickness is even more of a risk than sea sickness. The reward is that every crest of a hill results in sweeping views of sapphire seas or emerald jungle; the journey really is all part of the adventure.

Toco Road Trip | Trinidad Travel Vlog
Hi Guys, I always travel all over the world and show you guys, but finally, a proper travel vlog from Trinidad, my home country.
In this video, I take road trip to Toco with my family!
In trinidad, its is normal to cook lots and lost of food and drinks when we go on these lymes.
Toco is the most northeasterly village on the island of Trinidad in the County of Saint David at the point where the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. Tobago lies only some 35 kilometers to the northeast which renders Toco the closest point in Trinidad to the sister island. The name Toco was ascribed to the area by its early Amerindian inhabitants. The meaning of the name is uncertain, yet its historical significance and value to the country is well noted.
Punta Galera (now Galera Point) is one of the sights of Toco. Galera is a slight corruption of the word galea, the name originally given to the southeastern point, Galeota Point, by Christopher Columbus. The name was accidentally given to this point as well. The name stuck and it remains a popular tourist destination. The Galera Point Lighthouse in Toco was built in 1897 and today is surrounded by a park and picnic area.
Shark River
Shark River is beautiful river destination that is ideal for a good ’Trini’ river lime. With many shallow spots for wading complemented by deep crystal clear pools for swimming, it is a river that everyone can enjoy.

Barbados is a sovereign island country in the Lesser Antilles. It is 34 kilometres (21 mi) in length and up to 23 kilometres (14 mi) in width, covering an area of 432 square kilometres (167 sq mi). It is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic and 100 kilometres (62 mi) east of the Windward Islands and the Caribbean Sea; there in, it is about 168 kilometres (104 mi) east of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and 400 kilometres (250 mi) north-east of Trinidad and Tobago. Barbados was visited by Spanish navigators in the late 15th century and claimed for the Spanish Crown. It first appears on a Spanish map from 1511. The Portuguese visited the island in 1536, but they left it unclaimed, with their only remnants being an introduction of wild hogs for a good supply of meat whenever the island was visited. The first English ship, the Olive Blossom, arrived in Barbados in 1625. They took possession of it in the name of King James I. In 1627 the first permanent settlers arrived from England, and it became an English and later British colony.
In 1966, Barbados became an independent state and Commonwealth realm, retaining Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State. It has a population of 277,821 people, mostly of African descent. Despite being classified as an Atlantic island, Barbados is considered to be a part of the Caribbean, where it is ranked as a leading tourist destination. In 2014 Barbados ranked second in the Americas(after Canada) and 17th globally (after Belgium and Japan) on Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index.
