Best Places to Visit in Trinidad and Tobago
At just 42km long and around 14km at its widest point, Tobago is a breeze to roam around. Anyone spending more than a few days on the island will quickly familiarise themselves with the roads, bays and bends, and it will all start to feel like home. You’ll never have to drive more than an hour and a half – which also means that hotel and even airport pickups may be included as part of tours. Be aware though that the easily queasy may want to limit the number of times they zigzag across the island; the roads rollercoaster along steep hillsides and motion sickness is even more of a risk than sea sickness. The reward is that every crest of a hill results in sweeping views of sapphire seas or emerald jungle; the journey really is all part of the adventure.

Tobago travel - Canoe Bay
During our latest trip to Tobago, we decided to visit places that we'd never been to. Canoe Bay is definitely one of the spots that we recommend visiting. Although it's a paid beach ($15 TT as of Dec 2018), it is unique in that it has lots of shaded, grassy areas for a wonderful picnic overlooking the water.
The waves are gentle and Canoe Bay has a very shallow ocean floor. You can walk out into the ocean with the water coming up to your waist (great for kids and non-swimmers). There are no onsite restaurants or bars, so we highly recommend bringing your own food and drinks in a cooler. There are bathrooms to change and showers to wash off the sand after enjoying your visit :)
Canoe Bay is also available for rental should you have any large events to plan that need a lovely backdrop of the ocean!

Coco Reef Resort, Crown Point, Tobago
The Coco Reef Resort is unquestionably the most popular luxury resort on Tobago. Comfortable, in a traditional 'colonial' manner, the hotel may not have the star-appeal of modern super-luxury resorts, but it boasts a repeat rate that would be the envy of any hotel.

Tobago, active holidays
I WENT TO TOBAGO TO EAT (VLOG#1)
As I was editing this vlog, I realized half of the footage is food related. Not much of a surprise, since cooking and eating is a life long passion of mine...so, I just went with it!
Tobago is a stunning island with delicious local cuisine. Everything from the jerk chicken, curry butter lobster grilled/smoked over mango wood, to the perfectly marinated Mahi Mahi fish; Tobagonian BBQ is ON POINT! I also enjoyed the occasional obligatory fruity cocktail which was made even more delicious by using the fresh and, ripe island produce. The kicker for me, was a sweet lady on the side of the street selling her famous DOUBLES, which are basically curried chickpeas served on homemade fry bread and multiple tasty pickles and sauces. She sells out every morning, I tried to find her for 3 days and finally, SUCCESS!! We spent most of our time in the Crown Point area, lazing around in the beautiful beaches (mainly Pigeon Point Beach and Store Bay Beach). I will never forget the super friendly people I met, the excellent hospitality, and the memories that were captured. Until next time...cheers Tobago!
