On Aug. 11, the Communist media exposed scandals of
Wu Changshun, recently sacked director of the Tianjin
Public Security Bureau.
Wu Changshun was investigated on July 20 and removed
from his post four days later.
He became the first provincial official of Tianjin to be sacked
in the anti-corruption campaign.
In fact, Wu Changshun was known to be involved
in the persecution of Falun Gong.
International investigation group has identified him holding
massive secrets of the Jiang Zemin faction.
The 60 year-old Wu Changshun spent 44 years in the Tianjin
public security system.
He was director of Tianjin Public Security Bureau in 2003,
party secretary of the Bureau in 2005, and vice chairman
of Tianjin Political Consultative Committee in 2011.
Media reported, testimony from six people on Wu Changshun
could have led to his downfall, including three informants
from the Tianjin public security system.
But, none of them have yet been confirmed.
Beijing News reported that Wu Changshun had applied for
35 patents between June 1999 and March 2013, including 34
in intelligent transportation systems.
Through these patents, he had reaped undue profit.
A total of 12 pickup-truck loads of assets were confiscated
during the inspection of two locations associated with him.
Wu Changshun's downfall reminded people of his former
boss Song Pingshun.
Song Pingshun, former Chairman of Tianjin Political
Consultative Committee, died of suicide on June 3, 2007.
Was it a way of political silence for his involvement
in shady activities?
Song Pingshun's boss is Luo Gan, former chief of political
and legislative affairs committee.
As secretary of Tianjin political and legislative committee
in 1999, Song Pingshun held massive confidential information
about the 4.25 Zhongnanhai incident,
and was a key figure in it.
Wu Changshun was the subordinate of Song Pingshun,
as vice-chair of Tianjin Public Security Bureau.
After the death of Song Pingshun, Wu Changshun was
repeatedly asked to assist in the investigation.
Independent commentator Xing Tianxin: 'I remember
Wu Changshun was the one who declared on TV that
no one was arrested in the 1999 petition in Tianjin
by Falun Gong practitioners.
So, what is the relation between the 4.25 Zhongnanhai incident
and the Tianjin Public Security Bureau?
In April 1999, Luo Gan's relative He Zuoxiu, published an
article in Tianjin's Science Review for Juveniles,
I do not agree with the youths practicing Falun Gong,
suggesting the practice will cause problems
and even overthrow the state.
Many Falun Gong practitioners went to the magazine's editorial
department to explain the facts.
But Tianjin Public Security dispatched riot police to drive away
petitioners and arrested 45 people.
Tianjin officials told Falun Gong practitioners that the order
came from Beijing, people should reflect the situation to Beijing.
Therefore, on April 25, more than 10,000 Falun Gong
practitioners conducted a peaceful petition in Zhongnanhai.
The police led the way and guided the flow to the street to
the right of the Zhongnanhai compound, forming a so-called
siege of Zhongnanhai.
The Peace petition was dismissed under the mediation
of then Prime Minister Zhu Rongji.
Under the conspiracy between Song Pingshun and Luo Gan,
the 4.25 Zhongnanhai incident became the excuse
Jiang Zemin manipulated to launch the persecution
of Falun Gong.
Subsequently, Jiang Zemin promoted Luo Gan to the Politburo,
and Song Pingshun became the favorite of Jiang Zemin
and Luo Gan.
Wu Changshun also worked under Song Pingshun and became
the favorite to conduct the persecution of Falun Gong.
Minghui.org reported that Wu Changshun actively
implemented Jiang Zemin's persecution policy against
Falun Gong, that is, to destroy physically and financially and
to defame.
Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin have been
subject to kidnap, brainwash, detention and sentencing.
As of July this year, 92 Tianjin Falun Gong practitioners
have been persecuted to death.
Commentator Ren Baiming: In the recent drastic changes
within the Communist Party as Xi Jinping's anti-corruption
campaign continues, dozens of officials have been sacked.
These senior officials were found to have engaged in the
persecution of Falun Gong.
In fact, it reflects that good and evil will always be rewarded.
Among the sacked corrupt officials Bo Xilai,
Zhou Yongkang, Li Dongsheng, Su Rong, and Xu Caihou,
were all active participants in Jiang Zemin's persecution of
Falun Gong practitioners.
Compared with them, Wu Changshun has a relatively low rank.
Where is the so-called hitting the tigers movement going
to lead? What other shady facts could be revealed
in the movement?
It is yet to be discovered.
