Plaisir is a commune located in the heart of the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, 29.5 km from the center of Paris. It borders among others on Élancourt , Trappes and Les-Clayes-sous-Bois . The inhabitants are called Plaisirois. Plaisir has managed to preserve its twelfth century church. Its varied territory is characterised by large agricultural plains, many green spaces and a forest area that together occupy half of its surface.     The Fondation Claude Monet is a nonprofit organisation that runs and preserves the house and gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny, France.
