Plön is the district seat of the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and has about 8,700 inhabitants. It lies right on the shores of Schleswig-Holstein's biggest lake, the Great Plön Lake, as well as on several smaller lakes, touching the town on virtually all sides. The town's landmark is Plön Castle, a chateau built in the 17th century on a hill overlooking the town. Plön has a grammar school with a 300-year history, and is home to a German Navy non-commissioned officer school and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology. Laboe is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated on the Baltic Sea coast, approximately 10 km northeast of Kiel. The Laboe Naval Memorial is located within the municipality, as is the submarine U-995. The city coat of arms depicts a swan and is based on its name, as Laboe means swan in the extinct Slavic Polabian language.

Strande is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany at the Kiel Fjord.
It is about 20 kilometers north of the city of Kiel on the peninsula Dänischer Wohld on the Baltic Sea.
Beside the marina and related activities, there are two sandy beaches north and south of the harbor, the northern has infrastructure such as beach chairs.
