Andalucia Travel Video - The smell of orange blossom, the lilt of a flamenco guitar, the flash of the matadors cape; memories of Andalucía stay with you like collected souvenirs, begging you to return
Divine Inspiration
Andalucía has multiple faces: a parched region fertile with culture, a conquered land that went on to conquer, a fiercely traditional place that has accepted rapid modernisation. Here, in the cradle of quintessential Spain, the questions are often as intriguing as the answers. Who first concocted flamenco? How did tapas become a national obsession? Could Cádiz be Europes oldest settlement? Are those really Christopher Columbus bones inside Sevilles cathedral? And, where on earth did the audacious builders of the Alhambra get their divine inspiration from? Putting together the missing pieces of the puzzle is what makes travel in Andalucía the glorious adventure it is, a never-ending mystery trail that will deposit you in places where you can peel off the checkered history in dusty layers. Theres edgy Granada, arty Málaga, vivacious Seville, sleepy Setenil de las Bodegas, rugged Ronda, brassy Marbella, and even a rocky rump of the British Empire named after an erstwhile Berber warlord called Tariq.
A Cultural Marinade
The fascination of Andalucía springs from its peculiar history, Christianity and Islam. For centuries the region stood on the porous frontier between two different faiths and ideologies. Left to slowly ferment like a barrel of the bone-dry local sherry, these sometimes peaceful, sometimes battling kingdoms threw up a slew of esoteric cultural colossi: ancient mosques masquerading as churches, vast palace complexes strafed with stucco, a passionate musical genre bizarrely called flamenco, and a chain of lofty white towns that still dominates the arid, craggy landscape. This visually and viscerally compelling legacy can be found all over the region in places such as Córdobas Mezquita, Jerez music venues and the hilltop settlements of Cádiz province.
It´s Not All Resorts
It takes more than a few ugly Costa del Sol condo towers to steamroller 3000 years of illustrious history. Indeed, large tracts of Andalucías coast remain relatively unblemished, while inland, youll stumble into sun-bleached white villages where life doesnt seem to have changed much since playwright Federico Lorca envisioned Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding). The local bar is where it all happens. The noisy farmers in flat caps playing dominoes, the faded photo of a long-dead flamenco singer taped clumsily to the wall, the ruined Moorish castle winking through the open doorway, and those ubiquitous Andalucian aromas -- lemon trees, church incense, frying garlic -- that work on your senses, making you wonder if just perhaps, in a previous life, you were Andalucian too.

Oasys-Minihollywood Western Theme Park, Almeria, Spain
A very nice live performance/presentation of the Oasys (minihollywood) for the participants of the 10th European meeting on Solar Chemistry and Photocatalysis: Environmental Applications (SPEA10), held in Almería, Spain, on June 4th – 8th 2018.
asys (before known as Mini Hollywood) is a Spanish Western-styled theme park, located off the 364 km mark of the N-340 road, near the town of Tabernas in the province of Almería, Andalusia. Originally known as Yucca City, the set was designed by Carlo Simi and built for Sergio Leone's For a Few Dollars More in 1965. It was also used as a set for other films, such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). After filming of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was completed, the extras in the project bought the set and ran it as a tourist attraction. They were later bought out by a hotel group. The park features daily cowboy stunt shows, such as a mock bank raid and a re-enactment of the final moments of Jesse James. It also has a swimming complex, abandoned gold mine, Cowboy style saloon, a Fun Barn for children's activities, a zoo with birds and big cats in cages and many mock western stores.

Turismo Casa rural La Chatarré Andalucía nuestro entorno y Huelva
Visit Costa de la Luz and discover the province of Huelva to unveil all of its great unknowns.
Costa de la Luz extends through the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz, from the mouth of the Guadiana River which separates Portugal and Spain to Tarifa, an enchanting historical town facing the Straits of Gibraltar.
One of Huelva's attractions is that it offers sandy beaches in an area made up of dunes, pine forests and coastal protected reserves. There are various options to enjoy the inland villages and beaches; the area even has a 25 km stretch of beach that is accessible only by foot. The beaches of the Costa de la Luz are within walking distance of our accommodation and are among the best in Europe. If you are looking for lively resorts, untouched landscapes of great natural beauty and peaceful accommodation look no further than the province of Huelva.
Or, if you prefer a more rural setting, you may opt for one of our charming country houses on the 'La Chatarré' country estate in Calañas, Huelva, Andalusia where you will enjoy the tranquillity and an unforgettable stay.
More about 'La Chatarré':
'La Chatarré' country estate, in the district of Calañas, in the province of Huelva, is located in the geographic centre of the province, with several lakes and ponds very close for those who love fishing or kayaking. There are also biking or hiking routes since we're at the top of the breathtaking 'Valle Granjero' valley where the waters of the River Odiel run to the marshes with its famous hiking trail 'los Molinos de Odiel'.
We have spaces for pets, a lovely pool and a porch with great views of the Aracena Sierra to the north and the 'Valle Granjero' Valley to the south. Also, there is a very large picnic area, with several barbecues (with free firewood) as well as an archery range, and donkeys and horses (available from a third party) to ride.
Given its central location, 'La Chatarré is very close to many places:
Distances: - beaches: between 35 and 45 minutes away.
- The Aracena Sierra: between 35 and 45 minutes away.
- Seville: 65 minutes away.

* Walking enthusiasts can practice here, as we are located on a magnificent route well known in the province as 'los Molinos de Odiel'. The route runs along the river bank, and some mills can be seen in the area that predate the Christian era. From the start of this route at the 'La Chatarré' country estate to the shrine of the patron saint of Calañas, Our Lady Crowned, is more or less a time of 4-5 hours
The location of the country houses is the geographic centre of the province of Huelva, in a valley full of wildlife: deer, wild boars, foxes, etc... And typical local vegetation: oak, cork oak, thickets, pine, eucalyptus, etc...
