    Empire Mall is a shopping mall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. Opened in 1975, the mall comprises more than 140 tenants in 1,341,202 square feet of retail space, including five anchor stores and a food court. Empire Mall is a huge tourist attraction in South Dakota, with more than seven million visitors annually. The mall is owned and managed by Simon Property Group. On April 18, 2018, it was announced that Younkers would be closing as parent company The Bon-Ton Stores was going out of business. The store closed on August 29, 2018.On May 31, 2018, Sears announced that it's store would also be closing as part of a plan to close 78 stores nationwide. The store will close in September 2018.
